WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAFE,
CLEAN AND AFFORDABLE WATER.
PLEDGE TO SUPPORT TAP WATER!
Tap-a-palooza is a national contest to kick the bottled water habit on college campuses.
The campus that collects the most pledges to choose tap over bottled water will win funding to improve access to public water.

TO TAKE THE PLEDGE
GET THE FACTS:
Bottled water is not safer. The federal government requires far more rigorous and frequent
safety testing of municipal drinking water than bottled water.
Bottled water hurts the environment. Bottled water’s energy-intensive process contributes to
climate change. The amount of energy used in production and transportation could fuel
anywhere from 1.2 to 2.1 million cars a year. About 71 percent of PET plastic bottles are not
recycled and end up in landfills, ultimately polluting our waterways.
Bottled water is much more expensive. Consumers are wasting money on bottled water that
costs nearly 2,400 times more than tap water, even though almost half of the bottled water
comes from municipal water systems.
