The VSS will offer a chance to have a close look at how democratic structures function in different cultures, countries and organisations. Quality leadership and active participation on grassroots level are vital for a democratic society to function and both you will find relevant in the AFS perspective. At the VSS you will find space for discussions, practice critical thinking and challenges to your worldview. To guide you through the week, the summit offers an extensive programme for every type of AFSer, experienced and novice. Through a track system, you will be able to choose 2-4 workshops (3-6 hours each) based on your needs and expertise. The workshops will be complemented by a local German night; a cultural bazar where you can share your own food and traditions and sneak peek into other cultures; and a community project, all in all to ensure that you take home the best experience. The whole summit is then wrapped up with the amazing goodbye party. All in all, the VSS is four days of intense sharing and learning which develops you as a volunteer and creates lasting friendships with inspiring people from all over Europe and beyond! We hope to welcome you as a participant at the 8thedition of EFIL’s Volunteer Summer Summit hosted by AFS Germany.
