The site identified below is carried forward from the 2014-15 programme: This location was identified in previous years trawls. A potential scheme has been developed, in conjunction with other possible works on this corridor, which would create a 20mph limit on Station Road/Elm Road adjacent to Annan Academy and Elmvale primary school and address pedestrian concerns to the south on the route to Back of the Hill, agreed by Annandale and Eskdale Area Committee at its meeting on 19/03/14. During consultations Local Members have raised concerns regarding the proposed provision of traffic calming measures. Further consideration is required, including further speed measurements. Implementation of Traffic Regulation Order for waiting restrictions planned for March 2015. This location was the subject of a report to the Annandale and Eskdale Area Committee meeting on 19 March 2014 which agreed the promotion of a scheme comprising a "no motor vehicles except for access" restriction and limited traffic calming and associated 20mph speed limit be developed, consulted upon and implemented. Preliminary consultations identified a need to create a link at the south end of High Street to other cycle facilities, to give a safe route for any cyclists heading south on High Street – this to be developed, as previously identified – see item below. Scottish Government authorisation obtained for “Except Cyclists” sub-plates to be provided at “No entry” signs at exits from one way streets. Implementation of a signing scheme to extend Local Cycle Route 10 from Railway Station to NCN7 at Whitesands dependent on progress of this scheme and the Great King Street Toucan crossing scheme. Pelican crossing on Whitesands at Devorgilla Bridge, Redetermination Orders promoted. Dumfries Implementation instructed. Redetermination Order advertised.
