Elac Person Specification – Activity Leader
NON-‐RESIDENTIAL ACTIVITY LEADER – ST. ANDREW’S SCHOOL Introduction to Elac Study Vacations Elac Study Vacations is a small, but growing English Language School. It began in 1991 in Eastbourne, on the South East Coast of England, and initially ran a family stay course in that town. In 2000 Elac opened its first residential summer school, also in Eastbourne, and we now have 6 residential centres in Bath, Cardiff, Eastbourne, Horsham (West Sussex), Mayfield (East Sussex) & Nottingham. We also have family stay centres in Bath, Brighton & Eastbourne. Though Elac has grown as an organisation in recent years, the company still has the virtues of a small family-‐run business: a personal service, a high standard of care and welfare, attention to detail and a focus on quality. We are fully accredited by the British Council, members of English UK & members of Young Learners English UK Elac Courses Students who attend our courses receive 15 contact teaching hours per a week along with an extensive and varied activity and excursion programme. We run a zigzag timetable in most of our centres, which means that there are morning and afternoon lessons. There is also the possibility of teaching on weekends (please see specific centre programmes). Our daily activity programme covers a wide range of sporting and non-‐sporting activities. We also provide an extensive and enjoyable social programme run in the evenings. The excursion programme allows the students to visit interesting places in the local area and also popular tourist destinations.
