Ladies and Gentlemen,
Destruction of Election Documents
My office intends to proceed with the burning of the ballot papers and other
election documents in connection with the Local Government Elections, 2012 from
04 to 08 May, 2015 under the supervision of the Electoral Supervisory Commission
and this Office.
The Operations Manager of Omnicane, Mr P. Callychurn and A.S.P. S. Sahye
of the Special Mobile Force are agreeable to the said dates.
I should be grateful to be informed whether the Commission is agreeable to
the said exercise being performed on the abovementioned dates before initiating
further action thereon.
A draft Press Communiqué is also enclosed for the consideration of the
Commission.

SUBJECT :
I wish to inform you that this office intends to proceed with the burning of
ballot papers and other election documents in respect of the Local Government
Elections, 2012from 4 to 8 May, 2015 at the boiler furnace of Omnicane, La
Barraque, L’Escalier, under the supervision of the Electoral Supervisory Commission
and the Office of the Electoral Commissioner.

It would be appreciated if the SMF could undertake the loading operation at
the Special Mobile Force and provide escort to accompany the lorry to Omnicane on
those days.
3.
Representatives from the Electoral Supervisory Commission and the Office of
the Electoral Commissioner will be present at the Special Mobile Force as from
08.00 a.m on the said dates to witness the said operation.

DESTRUCTION OF ELECTION DOCUMENTS
The Public is hereby informed that, in accordance with Regulation 58 of the
Municipal City Council and Municipal Town Council Elections Regulations, 2012, and
The Village Council Elections Regulations, 2012, and after consultation with the
Electoral Supervisory Commission, the Office of the Electoral Commissioner will
proceed from 04 to 08 May, 2015, with the burning of ballot papers and other
election documents in connection with the Local Government Elections 2012.
The said documents, which are now lying in one sealed guard room at the Special
Mobile Force, Vacoas, will be transported to Omnicane, La Barraque, L’Escalier,
where they will be burnt at the boiler furnace under the supervision of the Electoral
Supervisory Commission and the Office of the Electoral Commissioner.
