Thermoforming
In recent years there have been enormous advances made in
the field of thermoforming. These days for the most part it
cannot be determined whether a component is produced by
injection moulding or by thermoforming.
The advantages over injection moulding lie in the overall costs
of the process. The production of thermo-tools is for the most
part significantly more cost effective and a frequently shorter
run-through time favours thermoforming.
The overall scope of the thermoforming process offers a host
of possible applications. There are almost no limits to thermoforming, starting from the packaging industry, the automotive
sector, medical technology and through to household goods.
The thermoforming industry shown at EUROMOLD should
provide a summary of the possibilities of thermoforming and
also try as part of this to illustrate the EUROMOLD processing
chain.
