QGSSSSA Soccer
With every game, the girls are continuing to improve their soccer skills. At Friday’s game, the girls
came really close to scoring goals; however, the opposing team had very good defense! It was
really good to see the Juniors an Opens sitting together on the bus on the way to the game. We are
a truly amazing team. Keep up the team spirit girls!

QGSSSA Touch
Well done to the Senior A team who remain undefeated. Should they win this Friday against BSHS,
they will bring home a pennant. Even a loss will give them 2 nd place, which is the highest finish in a
number of years for our Senior A team. Also, big congratulations to the Opens team who, after
Friday’s win versus Somerville House, have secured minimum 3rd place, which is the highest finish
for an Opens team in a very long time. We also celebrated and honoured the Year 12 girls who
played their final touch home games.

Intermediate Club Netball
With a number of girls still on exchange overseas and others involved in make-up QGSSSA fixtures,
many teams were low on players. It was great to see this didn’t hinder our girls in their game play
and they displayed a lot of talent on court. Well done to all the girls for their strong play and team
work!!

St Hilda’s Storm:
What an amazing display of netball skills by St Hilda’s Storm, defeating St Hilda’s Thunder 26-8 with
ONLY five players. All five girls played extremely smart netball. Shooting was very accurate by
Hanna Shrubshall and Kimiora Ona-Williams. Defence was dictated by Emma-May Ellis and Ava
Alderson and centre court was dominated by Juliet Monagi. Each quarter was played at the same
intensity and they made their coach very proud indeed!
Well done, team Storm.
Coach: Charmian Adamson
St Hilda’s Thunder:
The girls had a tough day on the netball court today. Playing the top ranked St Hilda’s Storm team
unfortunately seems to be their nemesis and they did not switch on at the start of the game. While
they improved over the course of the game, the damage was already done. Chin up girls, we will
work harder and be more determined next time.
Well done.
Coach: Vicki Hardin
St Hilda’s Strikers:
St Hilda’s Strikers were amazing tonight! Despite having players down and Jess Bridle with jet lag, all
girls knew they needed to step up and they certainly did. Our defenders made some excellent
intercepts which gave much needed turnovers, while our centre court players worked hard through
the middle to bring down the ball. Our shooters were on fire tonight getting into great positions in
the goal circle. With a fabulous team effort like this, we are definitely the team to beat!
Coach: Roanne Dwyer
St Hilda’s Force:
This week we only had four players, but were fortunate St Hilda’s Strikers were able to fill in. Even
under these circumstances, the girls played the most incredible game of the season. They did
fantastic passing and movement and worked hard to compensate for the missing players. Carla
Tulloch, Arabella Beirne and Phedra Chew were forced to play defence and had an incredible game!
Catherine Cason had a fantastic game in shooting, getting 80% of our shots.
Good work girls!
