Johnson City Radio Controllers AMA # 2306 120 Lancaster Road, Kingsport June 2015 President's Report CLUB OFFICERS: Greetings and salutations! Just a reminder, take a little time to check out your aircraft when you get to the field. When leaving, if you are the last person leaving, please double check that all the locks are secured and the gate lock is going thru the other lock on the chain. The next time you are at the field, look around and check out all of our new improvements! We have a new gas grill to replace the old grill. New wood on all of the bleachers, two new aircraft prep tables, new gravel and drain for the driveway and the lower area parking lot. More improvements will be forthcoming as the summer progresses. Keep your eyes open for new decals on the T-33 and its own information / history sign. I still need volunteers to coordinate the following events: July 25th, Fun Fly Competition. September 5, Club Picnic. October 24th, 6th Annual Halloween Fun Fly Competition. A coordinator's job is important to the events success, and is simple job and very enjoyable. Past event coordinators will gladly help out with advice and notes. So please contact me so that we can enjoy these events. -Anthony Hall JCRC President. Our Halloween Fun Fly Competition will host the Strangest Aircraft Contest, with a $25 cash prize. This does not have to be a Halloween themed craft, just different and or weird and must fly. So now is the time to start getting ready for this fun contest. I still need volunteers for show and tell presentations. These show and tell segments only need to last 5 or 10 minutes in length and that is including question and answers. The topic(s) can be anything relating to our hobby (new aircraft, flying procedures, building hints, and/or even personal experiences). Please volunteer, as I really enjoy these presentations. Contact me if there is a subject that we should bring up or if you want to give one. Newsletter Editor and Facebook Page Mike Starnes 423-276-4467 [email protected] Reminder; our meetings (the last Tuesday of the month) will now be at our airfield, so now is the time to double check all of your aircraft and bring them out to show off before and after the meeting. We will also be firing up the grill for meetings, so bring your aircraft and appetite. Coordinates N 36 25.1063 W 082 32.1312 Thanks! Clear skies, smooth air, and safe landings! All that is needed is a Fat Shark Head Set. FPV Flying Did you ever think of getting into FPV but did not know where to start? Here is a good place. Horizon Hobby sells an “ALL-IN-ONE Ultra Micro FPV Camera System”. As the name implies you can stick this camera on any small park flyer with good results. The camera works with 5.8GHz Fat Shark Head sets. There is no 2.4GHz interference. Just stick it on your aircraft with its own small aircraft battery and it is ready to go. This small camera includes its own video transmitter in a very small package. It is for small park flyers because its range is smaller than bigger systems. This camera system sells for around $100. www.flyjcrc.com www.facebook.com/flyjcrc Scenes From The Field www.flyjcrc.com www.facebook.com/flyjcrc www.flyjcrc.com www.facebook.com/flyjcrc www.flyjcrc.com www.facebook.com/flyjcrc www.flyjcrc.com www.facebook.com/flyjcrc www.flyjcrc.com www.facebook.com/flyjcrc Michael Starnes 1430 Glenmar Ave Mount Carmel, TN 37645 Next Meeting June 26- at the field Address correction requested Our Proud Club Sponsors: Hobby Town USA 3515 Bristol Highway Johnson City, TN 423-610-1010 http://www.hobbytown.com/tnjc Notice to Membership Benedict's Ace Hardware Access to the “Members Only” section of the 3607 N.
