From our President Dear Members,
We start March with a re-cap of our
annual crab feeds, which were held
February 28th & March 8th. Both can
be summed up in one word, WOW.
Over 800 guests enjoyed salad, pasta,
garlic bread and delicious crab. First,
a big thank- you to Rich Giaramita for
handling all the reservations, and
seating arrangements for both events.
Thank you to our cooks, Art Parziale,
Michele Gasparro, and Lonnie Chase.
I would also like to thank our
bartenders, Rich, Ralph, Gianfranco,
John and Larry. Much appreciation
and thanks to our wait staff, Rose
Marie, Elena, Sally, Lee, Adriana,
Francesca, Clair, Lillian, Jim, Alex,
Vito, Jim, Jerry, Grant, Roland,
Rebecca, Mario, Dennis, Debbie, Evan,
Renee, Mike, Sina, John, Alan, Ron,
Anthony and John. Thank you to all
those who graciously donated prizes
for the raffles. Much appreciation to
Bob Porta, Rich Vila, Herb Seidell and
Don Walker for pre-selling both raffle
and 50-50 tickets. It takes many
helping hands to put on the Crab
Feeds and I would personally like to
thank all of you that made it possible.
Grant Woodruff and Carlos Poza
chaired our first birthday dinner in
March. The ravioli and roast beef were
as usual a big hit! Thanks to our cooks
that evening, Joe Scodella, Angelo
Marchi and Nino Petracca.
The second birthday dinner was our
annual polenta dinner, chaired again
this year by Anthony Golden. Once
again, thanks to our cooks, Art
Parziale, Evan Matthews, and Dino
De Pianto.
And as always, thanks to our
bartenders, waiters and kitchen crew
for both dinners.
I hope to see you at the club in
April. Our Members meeting is April
10. Our family dinner is the popular
“Italian Night” so makes plans to join
us at the club. I want to wish
everyone Buona Pasqua.
God Bless & Sempre Avanti.
Tim Tomei
From the Sunshine Committee We lost one of our longest, most
loyal members February 25, Albert
Cristiani. Al and two of his brothers,
Frank and Lou, were three members
with whom I identify the club. If there
was anything the club needed, they
would be there to help. All three
received the Award of Merit. (I did not
know their other brother, Carlo, who
was in poor heath when I joined.) Al
had not been responsive for some
time, I have missed his sense of
humor since he was no longer able to
come to the club. We extend our
deepest sympathy to his son Tony and
the rest of the family. A celebration
lunch has been scheduled for 11:30
am Friday, April 3rd at the club. All
members and guests are welcome to
come.
We had two members that had
heart surgery, John Bacchi and Luigi
Matteuchi. Both are doing well.
We sent cards to our 85 and older
birthday boys, Alfred Dellamar, Paul
Dianda, Marino Duchi, Eugene C.
Gengler, Andrew Joseph Meyer,
Antonio Muscardin, and Enrico
Piasante.
Be sure to call or email me if you
have any news about our members.
We are glad to see you at the club,
but if you cannot make it, it is always
good to hear from you!
