8:30 Golf - 5:30 Dinner at the Club
From our President Dear Members,
May started off with our wonderful
dinner show Saturday May 2nd. Over
100 guests enjoyed a delicious meal
cooked by Michele Gasparro & Alfonso
De Pianto. Before the show started we
had a 50/50 raffle which was won by
women’s club president Roz Cantisani,
who then donated a portion of her
winnings back to the club. Thanks
Roz. The entertainers were
remarkable and the entire show was
fantastic. Unexpected highlights to the
show were 1st vice president Rich Vila,
board member Larry Quirico, and the
hilarious Vito Riggo, not to mention,
Danny Riggio’s infectious laugh. If you
were there you know what I’m talking
about; If you weren’t you missed a
great evening! Thanks to our
bartenders Ralph Brignone & Larry
Quirico. Our wait staff, Rose Marie,
Vera, Sally, Diane, Jerry & Vito. A big
thank you goes to Mike & Joyce
Gegler & Jim Taddei for the enormous
amount of planning and work you put
into this event. It is truly appreciated.
The very next day was our annual
Mother’s day brunch headed by past
president & current board member Art
Parziale. The record crowd of over 175
guests enjoyed a variety of breakfast
entrees. Helping Art cook were
Michele Gasparro, Alfonso De Pianto,
Angelo Marchi & Sally Acurso. At the
bar Sante Missaggia served up his
popular Ramos Fizz, as well as other
drinks. Our wait staff was fantastic.
We were all so busy I can’t remember
everyone, so not to leave anyone out,
let me say a big thank you to all of
you. You really worked hard.
May’s 1st birthday dinner was
chaired by Alex Alexeev. 345 guests
enjoyed a great meal with good
friends. Thank you to our cooks, Joe
Scodella, Angelo Marchi & Nino
Petracca. Thank also to our wait staff,
bartenders, ticket master, & kitchen
crew who helped make this event a
success.
Our 2nd birthday dinner was chaired
by Lee & Lou Matteucci. The tortellini
and pork roast were great. Thanks to
our cooks, Michele Gasparro, Alfonso
DePianto & Lonnie Chase. A special
thank you to Lee & Lou, for stepping in
to chair this dinner. It was a great
evening, thanks again.
May was a busy month. Thanks to
all of you that gave of your time &
talents to make it a great month at
the Fratellanza.
Last but not least, congratulations
to our 2015 scholarship winners: Lucia
Moradian, Natalee Christiani, Angelina

From the Sunshine Committee From the Sunshine Committee,
We lost Lena Biasotti in April,
widow of Angelo, who died in 2003.
She was also the sister of one of our
longest-standing members, Raymond
Negri. Lena enjoyed making cookies
for the children in their neighborhood.
It was reported that George
Barbero had been moved into a higher
level of care facility, but hopes to be
back soon.
We sent a birthday card to Art
Bertolero.
I apologize that my reports have
been shorter. We are nearing the end
of our home remodel, and the
demands on my time and energy have

been taxing.
Be sure to call or email me if you
have any news about our members.
We are glad to see you at the club,
but if you cannot make it, it is always
good to hear from you!

~ Property Sale Update ~
We are pleased to report that our property sale
closed on May 6, 2015. Specifically we sold 18,600
square feet for $1,680,000 to Eric Manou, of Manou
Design Group, a local real estate developer. Eric is
planning to construct 15 freestanding residential
units along with a parking lot that will be adjacent
to our parking space on our western side. From the
proceeds, $1,312,000 in debt that was secured by
the property was repaid. We are currently
negotiating with the Ligure Club to roll over the
$500,000 they received from the property sale into
a fully amortizing note. Once this negotiation is
completed, we will be in the position to significantly
reduce the remaining monies owed to our members
and friends who originally helped us acquire the
property in March 2006. We should be in a position
to announce this plan within the next 60 days.
The Board of Directors is actively discussing
development plans for the remaining 12,400 square
feet that we own directly west of our building. In
addition to the approximately 35 parking spaces,
the development plans will include a reconfiguration
of the “garden/bocce courts/service area” that will
meet the needs of our membership. Please stay
abreast of these plans by attending our
membership meetings where we will discuss the
specific plans. In the meantime, we will strive to
keep all informed of any temporary adjustments
that we might have to make to our parking area on
the west side as Eric begins the development of his
new project.
