Bob Lamacki – Author of “Fading
Lights” A WWII Love Story
Join author Bob Lamacki for a book review
on his book “Fading Lights” on Tuesday, May
12 at 7:00 PM in Assembly Hall. His book is
a WWII love story covering 55 years and includes information on the 1944 Manhattan
Project and on the JFK assassination. Besides an author, Bob Lamacki ran the
company which made the Oscars for movies.
He will also share some insight on movie
stars. Books will be available for purchase.

Author Krista August will take you on a virtual tour of the sculpture of south Lincoln
Park, the largest park in Chicago. You will
hear about the benefactors of the park and
the unveiling ceremonies for the various

Make Sleeping Mats for the Homeless
Monday, May 18th – There will be two training sessions. You only need to attend one.
The first session is from 10 AM to 11 AM in
Friendship Hall. The second session is from 1
PM to 2 PM in Sarah’s Grove. You do not
need to know how to crochet to help! We
need volunteers to cut the plastic bags into
strips and other volunteers to connect the
strips into “plarn” or plastic yarn. Contact

remember the residents from our community

When the Golden Years Turn Blue
Tuesday, May 19th at 2:00 PM in the Salt
Creek Room. Why does depression occur at
this stage of life? Why do I feel so tired?
Why don’t I like to do the things I used to
enjoy? This interactive program will discuss
signs and symptoms of depression, causes
of depression and most important, treatment

Come walk outside for our new walking
class! We will meet at the BWP Fitness Center and walk outside Friendship Village’s
walking paths. Bring a friend, sunglasses, a
hat, water, and comfortable shoes! We will
have instructors for different walking paces.
