Ambulatory Strategies
Due to advances in surgical technology, more and more
procedures are now routinely performed in ASCs. So how do
you manage patient safety and results, while also reducing your
liability exposure? This session will review risk management best
practices to assess your current processes as well as review how
you guard the reputation and financial health of your ASC.

Infection Prevention – A QAPI Approach
Phenelle Segal, RN, CIC

Federal, state and accreditation agencies require a thorough
Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement program
in the ASC setting. A well designed QAPI program, adhering
to specific standards including the Centers for Medicare and
Medicaid Conditions for Coverage provides assurance of the
quality as well as safety of services provided by facilities. This
session will discuss how an infection prevention program ties
into the QAPI program and will highlight and define terms that
are common to both programs such as risk assessment, quality
measures, data-processing and accountability.

Nancy Burden, RN

You’ve spent months tracking a measure – did well some months,
did poorly other months. You’ve got a nice graph that you share
with team members and your Board and MEC. It’s in color and
