Calling all gardeners! If you are interested in tending a box this year, contact
Teri @ [email protected] to reserve yours. We invite you to grow your
own food from this garden box and to share a tithe of your harvest with our
friends at Pearl Pantry.
We are so glad that you worshipped as part of the FUMC community this
morning. Please gather with us again:
April Collection for Box City 2015—Each year we assemble hygiene kits for
the homeless youth at Youth Emergency Services. This year, FUMC is collecting
full size (4-6 oz.) tubes of toothpaste and our goal is to collect 150 tubes of
toothpaste. Each congregation is collecting various items for the hygiene kits.
Please drop off your donations to the Donation Box in the Gathering Place.
April 19 and 26
“God’s Creation, Our Response”
The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof. Dr. Florence and guest, Dr. Kim Morrow, will lead us these two
weeks exploring creation as a gift in need of our care.
Sign up for new Eco Project at FUMC...save your food waste
Join the composting project at FUMC! When food is disposed in a landfill it rots
and becomes a significant source of methane—a potent gas with 21 times the
global warming potential of carbon dioxide. Find out about bringing your food
wastes to church weekly and how that waste will be turned into rich compost!
Visit the table in the Gathering Place.
Circle Theatre and WhyArts? invite you to a special performance by Comedian Leslye Orr! Born legally blind, for the past 30 years, actress and comedian
Leslye Orr has taught workshops internationally in which she upholds the possibilities of disabilities! Following her one-hour performance, participants from
Quality Living Inc., Ollie Webb Center, and Immanuel Communities will present
short vignettes on the theme of “Heroes”. There is no charge; recommended
for ages 8+.
Sunday, April 12, 2:00 pm, The Commons

AGO Hymn Festival
Prominent organists from the area (including our own two gifted staff organists,
Mark Kurtz and Marie Meyers!) and a large choir
made up of singers from around the city of Omaha
will join in a celebration of hymnody in our Sanctuary on Sunday, April 19 at 3:30 pm. The event will
include premiers of new hymn partitas (organ variations) by local composers (including Mark Kurtz),
and the event, sponsored by the American Guild of
Organists, is expected to be standing room only.
No tickets are necessary—we will accept free-will
offerings to help support the education of young organists in our area, and a
matching grant will double the offering received that day. A reception will follow in The Commons, which will include a slideshow displaying pictures of organs of all kinds throughout the world. For those of us who love music and
hymns especially, this is an event not to be missed!
Sunday, April 19, 3:30 pm, Sanctuary
From Participants to Partners
