The 2016 Butterflies in the Garden Logo Contest
Butterflies in the Garden is a popular event with thousands of
colorful tropical butterflies in the Botanic Garden Conservatory
during the month of March 2016. The winning logo design will be
used for all publicity before, during and after the event.
“Las Mariposas y las Mayas”
“Butterflies and the Mayans”
Butterflies are an important symbol in the Mayan culture in
Mexico. Find information about the “Butterflies of South America
(example: longwings, blue morphos).” Then create a logo using
the Mayan theme. This culture is represented with plants and
artifacts in the conservatory of the Fort Worth Botanic Garden.
THEME:
RULES: Use 8.5” x11” paper only
• Student must be in grades 6-12.
• Must be original, two-dimensional artwork (no copies or
facsimiles). Do not sign the front of the entry. The artwork
does NOT use clipart or any other computer-generated or
copyrighted images.
• A completed entry form must be TAPED to the back of each
entry. Entries with no form will be disqualified.
• No more than three entries per student.
• The judges’ decision will be final. The winner will be notified
using the adult’s contact information on the entry form.
• Remember that a good logo is well-designed, neat and legible,
easily understood, and eye catching!
• All entries must be received by June 26, 2015.
Mail or bring original drawings to the reception desk to Butterflies
at BRIT, 1700 University Drive, Fort Worth, Texas 76107.
