Leadership Endowment and Development Fund
(LEAD Fund)
“Harnessing potentials of Gerry Roxas Leadership Awardees for community transformation and
nation-building”
What is the Gerry Roxas Leadership Award Program?
Over the past 55 years, more than 42,000 Filipino girls and boys were recognized as Gerry Roxas
Leadership Awardees by the Gerry Roxas Foundation. The award, consisting of a gold medallion, is given
to outstanding graduating high school students from public and private institutions who have shown
exemplary leadership and dynamic spirit in both academics and extra-curricular activities. The award
hopes to serve as an inspiration to the youth to shape and live their visions for their community and the
country by exemplifying the core values of integrity, service and excellence as espoused by its founder,
Senator Gerry Roxas.
A number of past GRF awardees now join an illustrious roster of leaders that have accomplished
outstanding achievements in their chosen fields. Some of the more prominent ones include:
Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, Archbishop of Manila
DOJ Secretary Leila de Lima
DSWD Secretary Dinky Soliman
ABS-CBN President Charo Santos- Concio
PLDT & Smart Vice-President Ramon Isberto
Former National Defense Secretary Avelino Cruz, Jr.
Former DILG Secretary Joey Lina
Former COMELEC Commissioner Grace Padaca
Quezon City Vice-Mayor Joy Belmonte
Broadcast Journalist Malou Mangahas
Multi-Awarded Singer/Composer Gary Granada
The awardees have also been recognized for their outstanding academic achievements while in college.
In 2014, more than sixty Gerry Roxas Leadership Awardees received academic recognition with Latin
Honors (Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude and Cum Laude) during their recent college graduation.
This year, the topnotcher in the Bar Examinations was a Gerry Roxas Leadership awardee.
What is the Gerry Roxas Leadership Endowment and Development Fund (LEAD Fund)?
The program aims to harness the potentials of Gerry Roxas leadership awardees by providing scholarship
for college education and opportunities for leadership immersion through the Foundation’s Leadership
Program. The vision is to nurture the growth of Gerry Roxas awardees who will in the future use their
leadership skills and abilities to transform communities and lead the Filipinos in nation-building.
Around 2,000 outstanding graduating high school students are selected by partner public and private high
schools to receive the Gerry Roxas Leadership Awards yearly. Out of the total awardees, around 20
deserving awardees are given financial leap for college education. Since 1967, GRF has awarded 1,242
college assistance grants nationwide.
On the occasion of the 58th anniversary of the Gerry Roxas Foundation, the Leadership Endowment and
Development Fund (LEAD Fund) will be extended to a greater number of Gerry Roxas awardees who in
their youth have already been recognized as role models of integrity, service and excellence and will one
day contribute in nation-building.
Who is eligible to join the program?
The program is open to Gerry Roxas Leadership Awardees newly graduated from high school who are
