Seminars SS 2015 Two Main Tasks Paper Main task About 12 pages inc. pictures (DIN A4) High level Focus: Analysis and discussion Talk Last step About 12 minutes Even more high level Foucs: Overview and evaluation Subsequent discussion Seminars SS 2015 Paper: 12 pages DIN A4 including pictures Abstract General Topic of the seminar papers For each paper Introduction • What is the problem the paper deals with? • What are the contributions? Description: • What are the main techniques? • How are they applied? Discussion and Conclusion • What do you think about the method? • Why? Seminars SS 2015 Feedback: 2 iterations First Feedback draft Refinement of your work + final feedback • Concise feedback on each group partner‘s text • Follow the feedback guidelines ( homepage) • Meet and disucss! • Refinement of your paper based on the group members‘ feedback • Meet and discuss again! Final paper and feedback submission Seminars SS 2015 Talk: approx 12 minutes, 15 minutes maximum! Introduction • A few words about yourself • General topic of your seminar Presentation • High level presentation of your seminar • Similar to the paper but more high level Discussion • Questions by and discussion with the audience • Feedback on your talk and presentation • Takes about five to ten minutes Seminars SS 2015 Feedback: 1 iteration No handing in! First talk due date Refinement of your work + final feedback • Prepare concise and helpful feedback on the structure • Meet and disucss! • Refinement of your talk based on the feedback • Exercise your talk!
