2015 Oshawa Girls Fall Classic Rules OWHA Sanction #1516000 1. Hockey Canada and OWHA rules shall apply. 2. All teams from outside Canada require a Travel permit, certified roster and Medical insurance. Travel permits must be provided to the Registration Table upon the team’s registration. OWHA Teams require their most up-to-date OWHA approved Roster and it must be provided to the Registration Table upon the team’s registration. 3. All players participating in the tournament must be properly registered through the OWHA (or their appropriate provincial or national governing body affiliated with the IIHF) to play on the team with which they are listed, or qualified to play by a proper OWHA “Pickup Consent” form or IIHF equivalent. 4. All teams must register at Headquarters prior to playing their first game. In the event the team’s first game is between 7am-10am on Friday, those teams will be permitted to register immediately after their first games. Failure to register at Headquarters will result in a defaulted game. 5. A maximum 17 skaters and 2 goaltenders may be registered with each team. 6. All teams must be available to play 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. 7. There will be a timed two (2) minute warm-up beginning when the ice surface is ready. 8. All games will consist of 3 periods (10 minute-10 minute-12 minutes), stop-time; except Peewee AA, Bantam AA, Bantam A, Midget AA, Midget A, Intermediate A and Senior which will consist of 3 periods (12 minute–12 Minute –15 Minutes) stop-time. 9. In the event that a total of 20 penalties (minor, major, misconduct) have been assessed in one game, the clock shall be operated on a run-time basis for the duration of the game. 10. For any Misconduct, Game Misconduct or Match Penalty assessed in any game, ten (10) minutes will be utilized towards the specific team’s game penalty minutes. 11. As soon as there is a 5 goal differential, the clock shall be operated on a run-time basis. Once the differential is less than 5 goals, the clock will resume on a stop-time basis. 12. All players, including teams from out of country, must wear equipment approved by their governing body. 13. Players will shake hands after each game. 14. One (1) - 30 second timeout will be allowed for each team during Semi-final and Championship games only. There are no timeouts in Round Robin, Elimination or Quarter final games. 15. Teams will be awarded 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie and 0 points for a loss in all preliminary round games. 16. Standings after the round robin will be calculated on the basis of the points awarded as per rule #15. In the event of a tie between teams at the end of preliminary play, the following criteria will be used to break the tie in the following priority order: a) b c) d) e) f) Number of wins Percentage as calculated by dividing team’s total “Goals For” by the SUM of the team’s “Goals For and Goals Against”. TGF / (GF+GA) = %, Fewest Goals Against, Most Goals For, Fewest Penalty Minutes Coin Toss 17. Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals & Championship games are played to a winner. In the event of a tie at the end of regulation time, a sudden victory 5 minute overtime will commence. Teams will play 4 on 4 Plus Goalies. Players may be changed at any time. Goalies may be “pulled” at any time and a substitute player from the bench may be used. If there is still a penalty being served at the end of regulation time it will carry over into the OT, so will be 4 on 3 until the penalty time is served. If still tied at the end of 5 minutes, a shoot out will occur. 18. Shoot Outs/Overtime: Teams do not change ends for Overtime or Shoot Outs. Each team must designate 3 shooters (S1, S2, S3) directly onto the game sheet prior to the start of the game. Any player serving a penalty at the end of overtime will not be eligible to participate in the shoot out. All players except shooter and goalies will be on the bench. Once a player has shot, they will go directly to the penalty box. Shooters from both teams will shoot simultaneously, starting at centre ice. All three (3) designated shooters from each team will shoot. If still tied, each team will designate one shooter at a time until there is a winner. A player may not shoot for a second time until all players on the game sheet (except goalies) have shot. 19. The home teams shall wear their lighter coloured jerseys, and the visiting team will wear their darker coloured jerseys. In the event of a colour conflict, the home team must change their jerseys. 20. All players and team officials must sign the game sheet prior to each game. Any player or team official who is serving a suspension must record that they are serving the suspension on the game sheet in the area where they would normally sign their name. E.g.(SERVING 1 of 3, or SERVING 2 of 2). 21. Teams are requested to change as quickly as possible after their game and to vacate the dressing rooms ASAP (within 25 minutes) following the game. Teams are not permitted to hold parent or team meetings in dressing rooms as this will delay the next team from entering the dressing room. Teams are also responsible to clean up after themselves and to notify a tournament official or arena staff member if the dressing room needs cleaning. 22. The consumption of alcohol in dressing rooms is strictly prohibited in all arenas. 23. The OGHA strongly supports the Zero Tolerance Policy against abuse of OWHA Officials. Any player, team member, team official, or spectator may be asked to leave the playing area or arena premises by an OWHA Official. 24. Flooding of the ice will occur at the end of each game and may be deferred at the Tournament Committees discretion. 25. The decisions of the Tournament Officials are final. OVERTIME RULES for Elimination, Semi-final and Championship Games OWHA Sanction #1516000 Elimination, Semi-final and Championship games are played to a winner. In the event of a tie at the end of regulation time a SUDDEN VICTORY FIVE (5) MINUTE OVERTIME will commence. Teams will play 4 on 4 plus goalies. Players may be changed at any time. Goalies may be “pulled” at any time and a substitute player from the bench may be used. If still tied, a shoot out will occur. Each team MUST designate 3 shooters (S1, S2, S3) on the game sheet prior to the start of the game. Any player(s) serving a penalty at the end of overtime will not be eligible to participate in the shoot out. The coach must designate a shooter(s) to take her place(s) immediately at the end of regulation time. All players except shooter and goalies will be on the bench TO START. All 3 designated shooters from each team will shoot. Shooters will shoot at the same time starting at centre ice. Once a player has shot, they will go directly to the penalty box. If still tied, each team will designate one shooter at a time until there is a winner. A player may not shoot for a second time until all players on the game sheet (except goalies) have shot. If a penalty occurs during the 5 - Minute Stop Time overtime, teams play 4 on 3. If a second penalty is called on the SAME TEAM and the first penalty has not expired, then it will be treated as a delayed penalty and will commence when the first penalty expires. The Maximum a Team may be at a disadvantage is 4 on 3 **We respectfully ask for your assistance in that no team photos be taken on ice due to municipality and city insurance regulations. **Championship Awards and Medals MAY be Presented Off-ice if deemed by Tournament Officials due to time constraints and will be presented at a determined location as required. Tournament Format OWHA Sanction #1516000 4-Game Guarantee 4 Team Divisions: Round robin with all teams advancing to Semi-Finals. 1st vs 4th, 2nd vs 3rd. Winners of Semi-Finals advance to Finals. 5 Team Divisions: 1st & 2nd place teams advance to the finals. 6 Team Divisions: 1st place team overall will advance to the finals. 2nd & 3rd place teams will play an Elimination game. The winner of the elimination game will advance to finals. 7, 8 and 9 Team Divisions: Top four teams following preliminary round will advance to semi-finals. Winners of semi-finals advance to finals. 10 Team Divisions: 2 pools of 5 teams. 1st & 2nd place teams in each pool advance to semi-finals. Winners of semi-finals advance to finals. 11 Team Divisions: 1 pool of 5 teams (Pool A) and 1 pool of 6 teams (Pool B). Top two teams from Pool A advance to semi-finals. 1st place team in Pool B advances to semi-finals. 2nd place and 3rd place teams of Pool B advance to elimination game. Winner of elimination game advances to semi-finals. Winners of semifinals advance to finals. 12 Team Divisions: 2 pools of 6 teams. 1st place team overall in each pool will advance to semi-finals. 2nd & 3rd place teams in each pool will play an elimination game. The winner of the elimination game will advance to semi-finals. Winners of semi-finals advance to finals.
