Globaloria, a fast-growing Ed Tech company based in NYC, seeks to hire a Full Stack Web Developer
to build website functionality and back end systems for applications designed to transform K12 STEM
and Computing education. We are scaling our capabilities and seek to hire a versatile programmer to join our small, smart and tight-­‐knit team, where everyone's ideas are valued and put into action. Our colorful, casual, cubicle-­‐free office is stocked with healthy snacks and drinks (and caffeine!) We're close to Central Park, many subway and bus lines and tons of great lunch spots. About the Position
The Full Stack Web Developer builds website functionality and back end systems that enrich our
products and services. This full-time position with benefits is hands-on, collaborating with our Senior
Developer to design, code, and test custom PHP/MySQL web applications that meet our business
requirements. The successful candidate must have a well-rounded coding skillset, excellent problemsolving skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. This
position reports to the VP Product and Technology.
Job Responsibilities
• Develop, implement and test custom PHP/MySQL web and database applications
• Troubleshoot problems with applications as they arise
• Work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects
• Dependably deliver high-quality, on-time work
• Write and maintain technical documentation
Required Qualifications
• 3-year experience developing websites using a variety of programming languages
• Strong Proficiency with PHP and MySQL
• Strong Proficiency with JavaScript and JQuery
• Strong Proficiency with HTML5 and CSS
• Knowledge of emerging web technologies and a desire to stay informed
• Thorough understanding of software UI and web UX fundamentals
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field
• Excellent research and problem solving skills
• Ability to learn quickly, meet deadlines, collaborate, and innovate
• Energetic self-starter who thrives in a start-up environment
Desired Qualifications
• Proficiency with AJAX and JSON
• Proficiency with CodeIgniter PHP framework
• Experience developing web sites for mobile platforms
• Passion for using technology to improve education and help people learn and teach
