National Conference on 21 March 2015 About the University GNA University is one of the industry led universities, approved by Govt. of Punjab vide Punjab Act no. 17 of 2014 and promoted by S. Amar Singh Educational Charitable Trust, Jalandhar. The university has lush green upcountry campus located at Sri Hargobindgarh on Phagwara-Hoshiarpur state highway with easy road, rail and air connectivity. GNA University is led by S. Gursaran Singh, Chancellor who is a well-known personality not only in the state of Punjab but among entire automobile and auto component manufacturing industry in the country. All operational and strategic areas of GNA University are looked after by its pro-chancellor S. Gurdeep Sihra, an experienced and seasoned industrialist with a determined vision of imparting quality teaching and learning to the students. The university puts great emphasis on research through its faculty and students. Students have undertaken different research projects in nearby towns like Phagwara, Hoshiarpur and Jalandhar to help society in addressing relevant issues like waste management, conservation of energy, traffic management etc. Being an industry led ; GNA University has set out a very clear outline to have strong industry-academic interface. GNA University's Wi-Fi campus has impressive infrastructure with well-equipped labs, lecture theatres, seminar halls, workshops, and separate hostel for boys and girls. In addition, transport facility is available to all nearby towns. In wider terms GNA University offers a plethora of opportunities to its students enabling them in achieving success in their life. About the Conference Theme Today's economic environment has underscored the importance of long term competitiveness of the economy and the business. These competitive economies are continuously engaged in productivity enhancement mechanism for sustainable economic performance of the business. The three essential pillars of sustainable development must necessarily focus on a broader set of policies for improving competitiveness, environmental quality, and employment. The sustainability in products, processes, and services has been increasingly emphasized by placing environment at the center of some industrial transformations or at least on par with competitiveness. Sustainability being the core of success of all the sectors of industry including Health, Safety, Hospitality and IT. Therefore sustainable growth of all the sectors of industry plays an important role in enhancing the economic growth. Plenary sessions will be addressed by eminent speakers from industry, academicians, consultants and practitioners. While the second session will include paper presentation. Both the session will be held parallel based on the number of short listed papers. Guide lines for full paper submission: Contributions from academics, researchers, policymakers, analysts from government and private institutions, business representatives, and PhD students are encouraged. Papers can deal with both theoretical and methodological approaches, implementation, and case studies. The papers should be a original unpublished contribution neither published or communicated any where else. The manuscript must be in Microsoft Word/PDF format, single-spaced (including indented material, notes and references). All headings including title should be of 12 font size in Times New Roman while text should be of 10 font size in Times New Roman. Margins must be of 1 inch on all sides. Full Papers should not exceed 5000 words (including abstract not exceeding 300 words). Following is the order to be followed when typing manuscript: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Name(s) of authors, Affiliation, Full postal address, telephone, fax and e-mail address Main text, Acknowledgment, Appendix and with appropriate footnotes and end notes and references in Harvard style. It is presumed that the author has not violated any copyrights. GNA University is not responsible for any copyright violation by the author who will be solely responsible for such act if any. Papers must be sent by email to the conference convenor at [email protected]. Only electronic submissions will be accepted. Conference Registration Papers by authors registered for conference only will be considered. Registration will be accepted by post or fax. Registration is a prerequisite for attending the conference unless by invitation. All the authors must register in case of inclusion of paper in the conference.
