In 2009, GS upgraded to REVIT
software, which allows building modeling in
3-D that is shared at all stages as a digital model by
architects and engineers. Any changes made during the
design process are automatically updated throughout
the entire project. This seamless change process means
designers are immediately alerted to design conflicts,
such as ones between structure and mechanical systems.
When fully utilized, an engineer can perform structural
analysis from the same digital model.

Commercial Projects:
Waltz Winery, Manheim, PA
IU
This 3,200 SF building houses the production and saleroom areas of this boutique
winery. Located in northwest Manheim’s rolling farmland, the winery design
complements the owners’ home. Architect Pete deVitry and contractor Dale Peters
collaborated to realize the Waltz’s vision.
Education Projects:
Hinkletown Mennonite School,
Lancaster County, PA IU
This 24,000 SF, two-story addition serves the Mennonite community between
Ephrata and New Holland. The $1.7 million addition added an elevator and
classroom space to the existing school. Structural components included a steelframed second floor and trussed roof. Architectural services were by Cornerstone
Design, and construction was completed by Weaver Construction.
Health Care Projects:
GSH Wound Care Center,
South Lebanon Township, PA

This is the latest of several projects we’ve completed with Beers & Hoffman
Architects and Arthur Funk & Sons Construction. This single-story, 3,500 SF
timber-framed building provides bariatric services for Lebanon’s Good Samaritan
Hospital.
Residential Projects:
Prince Street Center, Lancaster, PA
IU
This is the latest of many adaptive-reuse, historic tax credit projects we’ve done
with Tippetts/Weaver architects. Developed by the Drogaris Companies and built
by EG Stoltzfus, this project converted 45,000 SF of abandoned tobacco warehouse
space into residential apartments and commercial restaurant space. As noted on
page 1, this won a 2009 award from the Historic Preservation Trust of Lancaster
County.
Country Club Apartments,
E. Lampeter Township, PA IU
Developed by Community Basics and Peter Egan, this PHFA-funded project
consists of three-story timber-framed buildings totaling 127,000 SF. Architectural
Concepts designed this $19 million project.
Church Projects:
Grace Bible Chapel, Rising Sun, MD
UC
This 27,000 SF, $3.6 million building included a pre-engineered metal building
core and timber-framed sides. A separate 2,000 SF maintenance building contains
a cistern for fire-protection water supply. Horst Construction engaged GS for the
structural designs and Cornerstone Design for the architectural design.

Commercial Projects:
Subway, Lancaster, PA
UC
Meeder Development and Wohlsen Construction retained GS for the structural
design of this urban Subway, which will have office space on the second floor.
Foundations had to accommodate several previous buildings on this site and an
adjacent five-story building. Stuart & Associates is project architect for this 3,200
SF building.
Barnes & Noble Bookstore
at Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA
UC
Tippetts/Weaver Architects skillfully adapted two historic buildings in downtown
Lewisburg into this shared college and commercial bookstore. An 1880’s timberframed warehouse in the rear and a 1940’s steel-framed commercial building in
the front were joined to create a two-story atrium, which includes Lewisburg’s first
escalator. GS’s challenges included load-rating the existing buildings, staggering
framing to meet different existing floor levels, and removing part of the second
floor and roof to create the atrium. Zartman Construction of Northumberland is
the general contractor for this 37,000 SF project.
Government/Institutional Projects:
Cornwall Authority Office,
Cornwall Borough, PA UC
This 3,000 SF building houses the water authority’s office and maintenance
garage. Beers & Hoffman architects incorporated historic features of the ironmaking community into the front and rear facades. Dueck Construction executed
the work.
Lebanon Valley Economic Development
Corporation, South Lebanon Township, PA
UC
After many years, the LVEDC is finally relocating to one of the many successful
business parks it has developed. Arthur Funk & Sons executed the design by Beers
& Hoffman architects for this 2,600 SF facility.
Private Residence, Lancaster County, PA:
Log Cabin Road Residence
IU
Situated on a generous rural site in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; this Tippetts/
Weaver project included new construction of a single-family residence. The
structure was conceived as an assemblage of multiple heavy-timber from radiating
from he central living space. The building was sited on a bluff considering
sweeping views of the landscape, as wall as natural light and sun exposures to the
interior and exterior living spaces.

Bank Barn
Catasaqua, PA
This bank barn in Catasaqua, PA, was disassembled and rebuilt by Restore ’N More
on a new site south of Millersville. GS designed the new foundation. Also under
construction on this site is a house originally located in central Connecticut. The
house has been disassembled and rebuilt by Restore ’N More on a new foundation
and augmented with additional living space. Cox Evans was the project architect.
