WHAT DOES THE BOARD DO?
Recently
my
Reunion
group
challenged each other to pay it
forward, such as buying a meal for a
friend or simply letting someone out
in traffic. This has helped me in my
Faith and reminds me of the sacrifice
that was made on the Cross for me.
What better example of paying it
forward.
Hebrews 13:16 tells us that the goods
we have should be shared, for by
doing so it is pleasing to the Lord.
I challenge each of you as well to "Pay
it forward" and watch the impact you
have by taking such a simple measure.

Did you know that before every Gathering,
the GSMEC Board meets? All Community
members are welcome to attend, although
only elected Board members can vote. We
welcome your suggestions in making our
community stronger and we take
suggestions seriously. For example, a recent
comment about the need for a cooler
kitchen has resulted in getting estimates on
an air conditioning unit. Wayne Bromberg is
spearheading a committee that will meet
with the pastor of Central UMC to discuss air,
rental contracts, future Walk/Flight/Journey
dates, and storage security issues.
We welcomed three new Board members,
Robin Turnmire and Bill & Bev Hoppenworth.
We said good-bye to Jennifer & Tiki Dixon,
our former Registrars. We discussed results
from the Team Selection committee…all in a
day’s work!
And speaking of Team Selection…if you are
considering being on a team, we look for
previous volunteer efforts (kitchen, dining
room, send-off, agape, etc.) and make note
of Emmaus 101 attendance.

in Tennessee is scheduled for July 18, 2015,
