MoU between University of PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND and GUJARAT
TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY

Prof. Libby (Elizabeth) Osgood from School of Sustainable Design Engineering,
University of Prince Edward Island, Canada visited Gujarat Technological
University during the Workshop on “Understanding Global Perspective and
Methodologies used in Delivering Design Engineering Courses”. On this
occasion, a MoU has been signed between University of Prince Edward Island
and GTU.
Major points of MoU were following:
 Exchange of academic staff for the purpose of teaching and
research
 Exchange study abroad programs for students
 Use of technologies in higher education
 Organization of joint seminar/conference /lectures, training and
academic meetings
 Research /consulting contracts
 Exploring potential program collaborations
Dr. Akshai Aggarwal, Prof. Libby (Elizabeth) Osgood School of Sustainable Design Engineering,
University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) CANADA, at GTU
Dr. Akshai Aggarwal, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of GTU talked about
achievements and activities of GTU. On this occasion, he remembered the visit
of Dr. Alaa S. Abd-El-Aziz, President, University of Prince Edward Island, when
the possibility of a MoU signing was discussed. Dr. Akshai Aggarwal, Hon’ble
Vice Chancellor has shared his rich academic experience of Canada. Further, he
discussed possibility to start specific design course at GTU. He said that the MoU
will provide great opportunities to both the universities in terms of research
and academic development.
