Welcome to all the players, parents, coaches and umpires back for another
season.
A special welcome to all the new players, coaches, umpires and their families.
We hope everyone has enjoyed their first few weeks and are looking forward
to the season ahead.

TEAM PHOTO NIGHT
On Tuesday 12th May, all teams will have their team photo taken over in the
Cove Sports and Community Complex Clubrooms. Players and parents will be
able to purchase these photos. All players will be expected to wear their
uniform to training on this night.

FUNDRAISING
As we have done in previous years , we will soon be giving each family a book
of 10 raffle tickets to sell at a cost of $2 per ticket. The raffle is organised by
the Australian Central Credit Union to help clubs with their fundraising.
Each club receives 100% of their ticket sales.
This is our major fundraiser for the year & we need support from all players to
make this a success. Any lost or destroyed raffle tickets will need to be paid for
as our club is accountable for all tickets.
Each family will receive a raffle book to sell shortly.
PHOTOS FOR PRESENTATION NIGHT
It is never to early to start planning for Presentation Night!
Can all coaches, managers and parents please make sure you are taking plenty
of photos of your team during training and on Saturdays or at any fun
occasions you may have. We need as many as we can get for Presentation
Night. Only digital photos can be accepted.
As a courtesy, please ensure you obtain permission from the opposition if
taking photos during matches.
UMPIRES
Thank you to those who have offered to umpire for the club this Winter season.
Hallett Cove Netball Club is fortunate to have several experienced and badged umpires as well as a few
junior umpires who have taken the brave step in learning to umpire this year. Without this dedicated group,
we would be unable to offer netball at Hallett Cove.
A reminder about the ‘Orange Armband Program’, introduced by SAUCNA in recent seasons - This gives new
and inexperienced umpires the opportunity to learn and improve in a safe environment, under the guidance
of an experienced mentor umpire. We ask that you show patience and respect to these umpires who are in
the program, at our home courts, other suburban courts and at the association courts.
Please show all umpires the respect and appreciation they deserve. No Umpire = No Game
If anybody requires any information regarding umpiring or rule clarification, please speak to Hayley Boys.
CANTEEN DUTY
One person from each home team will be required to assist in the canteen each week.
If you are rostered to be in the canteen for a 12:30 match you need to be available in the canteen between
12:00 and 1:45pm.
If you are rostered to be in the canteen for a 2:00 match you need to be available in the canteen between
1:30 and 3:15pm.
If you are rostered to be in the canteen for a 3:30 match you need to be available in the canteen from
3:00pm until pack up is completed.
Depending on the number of home matches, you may not be required to remain in the canteen for the full
duration. It is essential that everyone does their bit to help when it is their turn, do not assume others will
do it for you.
SAUCNA REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS FOR 2015
We encourage any player interested in trialling for the SAUCNA representative teams to do so. This is a
great experience, which will involve attending several trial sessions to be selected.
If you are chosen you will be involved in the CANA Nationals, which this year will be hosted by Corcoran
Park, Townsville, Queensland. They will be held from 26th September to 3rd October 2015. This is a
fantastic experience.
Player nominations close on
10th of May with a $10 fee.
The dates for trials are:

Under team on Wednesday nights, and 7 junior teams on Friday

Congratulations to Chloe Milford, who was
jointly awarded the SAUCNA Dean Lawrence
Incentive Award for Summer 14/15. Each
week in every match of all 6 divisions of 13
& Under, every team votes for an opposition
player who they feel demonstrates skill,
good sportsmanship, team work and has
potential. At the end of the season, Chloe
and another player were sharing the highest
number of votes.
Chloe was presented her award by Dean
Lawrence . Well done Chloe!
Sponsorship is a very important part of every club and we are very
pleased to have several sponsors continuing again this year. We are
always looking for more sponsors.
