There will be a surcharge of 20% for all entries sent by Fax. Your Credit Card number plus the expiry date
must accompany your entry. Cardholder's name and address must also be included on each entry. All
entries with a credit card number will be treated as a faxed entry and charge the fax fee. A fee of $25.00 will
be levied on all Declined Credit Cards & NSF Cheques.
ATTENTION FOREIGN EXHIBITORS
Please note that fees are due and payable in Canadian dollars. Due to consistently fluctuating currency
rates, discounted cheques will not be accepted. Personal cheques will be accepted, however, they are to
be payable in Canadian funds. If you send a cheque in US funds, it must be made out for the full amount
of the entry and no exchange will be refunded to the exhibitor. Please do not mark cheques “Payable in
Canadian Funds” or “At Par”. They will not be cleared by the banks. To simplify the process, we urge that
you purchase bank drafts or money orders payable in Canadian funds. Your understanding and cooperation
is appreciated. Thank You.”.

CANCELLATION OF ENTRIES
Chapter 13, Section 10 of the Dog Show Rules State:
An exhibitor has the right to withdraw an entry. Notice of withdrawal must be in writing and received by the
Show Secretary on or before the official closing date as published in the premium list.

MOVING A DOG TO THE SPECIALS CLASS
Chapter 13, Section 13, of the dog show rules has been amended to allow a dog which is “INDIVIDUALLY
REGISTERED AT TIME OF CLOSING” in the records of the Canadian Kennel Club, and has completed the
requirements of a Championship, after the closing date for entries for a show, may be transferred from one
of the regular classes to “Specials Only”, providing the request for transfer is submitted to the Show
Secretary in WRITING at least ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE OPENING OF THE SHOW by the owner or
handler.
JUNIOR HANDLING COMPETITION

1.
Entry must be made on a special entry form as provided by the CKC and available from the Show
Secretary and must include the following:
a) Name of Club and date of event
NON-MEMBER PARTICIPATION FEE
The Non-Member Participation Fee applies to dogs wholly owned by a resident of Canada who is not a
member of the CKC; it is not applicable to CKC members or dogs co-owned with a CKC member. In order
for the title to be awarded, the non-member will have a choice to either become a CKC member or pay the
Non-Member Participation Fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will result in the title being
withheld and the dog cannot be moved up to the next level. (For a Membership application, please go to
www.ckc.ca under CKC Services and Forms On-Line). The Non-Member Participation Fee is fee paid in the
calendar year (January – December) in which the dog achieved its title and/or titles.
b) Name, address, telephone number, date of birth, signature of Junior Handler.
c) Class entered, breed & catalogue number of dog to be handled.

A Junior Handler may compete with any dog entered in the show, provided he/she has the consent of
the owner or agent to do so.
3.
The Junior Handler will wear the armband number assigned to the dog for the show.
4.
If necessary, due to conflict, substitution of dog will be allowed.
5.
Dogs being used in competition must be of appropriate size and temperament for the Junior Handler.
If the Junior Handler cannot lift the dog, it is not appropriate in size for the competitor.
ATTENTION ALL FOREIGN EXHIBITORS
To obtain an ERN simply do the following: Send a photocopy of the dog's registration certificate reflecting
current ownership - with a written request for an ERN, include full payment in the amount of $58.60 plus
applicable tax. Accounts may be paid with personal or business cheque, money order, Visa or Mastercard.
For Non-Members please note that if paying by cheque, the cheque must be certified. Non-residents of
Canada please note that discounted cheques or money orders will not be accepted due to fluctuating
currency rates. Provide us with your full return address. Faxed requests will be accepted. Please include
your VISA/MasterCard number,expiry date, cardholder's name and signature. An ERN must be obtained
within 30 day of obtaining points, awards or scores to avoid cancellation. If factors beyond your control
prohibits this or presents a problem, please send a written request for a 30 day extension.

The Hamilton Kennel Club Inc. Is pleased to offer Rosettes for First to Fourth in each class and a
Rosette & Trophy for Best Overall Junior Handler, and ribbons for all participants.
Pee Wee - Handlers 4 years of age up to 6 years of age as of December 31st of the year preceding the
competition year. This class is optional and non-competitive.
Junior Novice - Handlers 7 to 10 years of age as of December 31st of the year preceding the competition
year, who have not won 6 first places in the same class with competition.
Junior Open -Handlers 7 to 10 years of age as of December 31st of the year preceding the competition year
who have won 6 first places with competition.
Intermediate Novice - Handlers 11 to 14 years of age as of December 31st of the year preceding the
competition year, who have not won 6 first places in the same class with competition.
Intermediate Open -Handlers 11 to 14 years of age as of December 31st of the year preceding the
competition year who have won 6 first places with competition.
Senior Novice -This class is for handlers 15 years of age as of December 31st of the year preceding the
competition year and up to 18 years of age, who have not won 6 first places with competition in this class.
Handlers from the Intermediate levels progress to this class.
Senior Open - This class is for handlers 15 years of age as of December 31st of the year preceding the
competition year and up to 18 years of age, who have won 6 first places with competition in the Senior
Novice Class, and for any handler who has progressed through the Intermediate Open level and feels that
he has enough experience to compete at this level.
BRED BY EXHIBITOR COMPETITION

The Hamilton Kennel Club is pleased to offer an UNOFFICIAL CLASS COMPETITION for breeders who
enter the Bred By Exhibitor Class. This class is open only to dogs entered in the “bred by” class.
There is no additional charge for this competition. Judging in this competition will be held after each official
class is completed at the breed and group level, by the regular breed judge. Each winner will be eligible to
compete for Best Bred by Exhibitor in his or her respective groups. Each group winner of the Best Bred by
Exhibitor will be eligible to compete for Best Bred By Exhibitor in Show. A judge will judge best Bred by
Exhibitor in Show upon completion of General Specials. A flat ribbon will be awarded at the breed level.
A Rosette & $20 will be awarded to all Group winners in this competition. A Rosette $40 will be awarded
to the Best Bred By Exhibitor in Show.

A class dog awarded Best In Show at an all-breed championship show will be credited with five points
inclusive of any points earned at the breed or group level. In no case may a dog earn more than five points

GENERAL INFORMATION
All communication regarding entries should be addressed to the Show Secretary.
Entries without a fee will not be accepted.
Acknowledgement of entries with a judging schedule will be mailed as soon as possible after the
closing date.
Make all cheques payable to Diana Edwards Show Services
The Club and Diana Edwards Show Services will not be responsible for cash sent through the mail.
Returned cheques do not constitute a valid entry fee. A collection fee of $25.00 will be added by
Diana Edwards Show Services in addition to any back charges for each returned cheque.
There is no refund for duplicate entries. Every effort will be made to find all duplicate entries,
however if the entry has been processed and appears in the official catalogue, no refund will be
made.
Entry fees shall not be refunded in the event that the dog is absent, excused by a Veterinarian or
Judge, disqualified or barred from competition by action of the bench Committee.
If because of riot, civil disturbance or acts of God, it is impossible to open or complete the show, not
refund of entries shall be made.
Exhibitors must abide by errors made in entering their dogs, regardless of how or by whom the
entries were made. Change or cancellation of any entry after closing time is prohibited.
The Club reserves the right to refuse any entry subject to CKC rules.
Dogs may arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further
judging will be excused. Judges will not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners/Agents are
responsible to have their dogs present when their classes are called to be judged.
Exhibitors are requested to keep their groming and crating areas clean and tidy. If space is at a
premium, exhibitors must remove exercise pens if requested by the Show Superintendent.
The Show Superintendent will be in complete charge of the show, which will be
governed by CKC rules.

All dogs entered in the sweepstakes must be also entered in a regular class at this Specialty or for
Exhibition only. (Breeder must have bred the dog that they are showing but they do not need to own the
dog that they are showing). Dogs may be spayed or neutered.
Awards: A rosette and prize will be offererd for Best in Youth Sweepstakes, Best Opposite Sex in Youth
Sweepstakes, Best in Veteran Sweepstakes, Best Opposite Sex in Veteran Sweepstakes, Best in
Breeder Sweepstakes. Winner of each Sweepstakes Class will receive a Flat Ribbon. In the event that
there are not enough entries to distribute the requiree 75%, the difference will be awarded to the Best in
Sweeps winner. The remainder of the entry fees will be retained by the SCOC to defray the costs.
