the letter to stakeholders - The Hudson Learning Center
118-49th St. Union City, NJ 07087 201 974-9800 January, 5, 2015 Dear Customer, The Hudson Learning Center will be embarking on a process to become an accredited school by The Middle States Accreditation Association as a Supplemental Education Organization. Accreditation has had a major impact on American education since the early 1900s, with Middle States Association among the pioneers in the field. Accreditation responds to the public demand for improved quality and greater accountability for schools serving society's needs. The U.S. Department of Education- describes approved accrediting organizations such as Middle States as a “reliable authority as to the quality of education.” Accreditation is an external, objective validation of school quality and student achievement that fosters continuous school improvement. As an accredited school, The Hudson Learning Center will: Adhere to the Middle States Standards for Accreditation; Use its mission, beliefs, and goals as the basis for daily decision-making; Operate in the public interest and in accordance with ethical practice; Accept responsibility for the level of performance of its students; Remain committed to continuous improvement in student learning and to its capacity to produce the levels of learning desired and expected by its community; Operate in a collegial and collaborative way with all of its stakeholders; Sustain its focus on implementing recommendations, addressing monitoring issues and correcting stipulations that may be part of its notification of accreditation and As you can see becoming a Middle States Accredited school will further enhance our programs so that we can better serve our community. During the next few months we will be sharing news with you about the process for accreditation and we will be asking for your input on various aspects of our programs by way of surveys, etc. We will take all the input you provide us and use it to better plan for future educational programs that will enhance what we already do for the community. We look forward to embarking on this process and hope to be able to work together to gain this very prestigious recognition. Sincerely, Maddy Miqueli Director
