HSTV Joins National No More Homeless Pets Network KNOXVILLE, Tenn., May 19, 2015─ The Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley (HSTV) is now an active partner in national animal welfare organization Best Friends Animal Society’s No More Homeless Pets® Network* which offers help and support to animal rescue groups that save lives in their communities. “We at HSTV thank Best Friends for welcoming our organization into the No More Homeless Pets Network program,” says Amy Buttry. Being part of this powerful grassroots coalition will enhance our ability to provide our community with solutions to animal welfare issues in the present and move towards a future when adoptable animals are no longer euthanized in Tennessee.” In 2001, the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley became a nonprofit and no-kill organization after serving Knox County and animal control for over 100 years as the Knox County Humane Society. Since then, HSTV has rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed over 20,000 animals. HSTV works with over 20 area shelters by pulling animals at risk for euthanasia and bringing them to their adoption center on Kingston Pike. HSTV also operates as a community resource through its low-cost spay/neuter and vaccine clinic, a thrift store called Four Feet Repeat, humane education programs and low-cost dog training services.
