SIG - Introduction
SIG - Introduction
For over 50 years SIG has manufactured quality products for aero modelers from around the world.
SIG - R/C Airplanes
SIG offers both ARF (Almost Ready to Fly) and BIY (Build It Yourself) radio controlled airplanes. Both include quality hardware, such as
hinges, control horns, etc. Where applicable landing gear, canopy, windows and decals are also included. High quality balsa and plywood
with step-by-step detailed instructions in English and German make construction simple and enjoyable. The BIY airplane kits include full size
building plans. The ARF airplanes are precisely constructed to SIG's specifications and covered with Oracover® polyester film.
SIG - C/L Airplanes
Most of the C/L (Control Line) airplane kits are easy-to-build balsa Profile models. Generally, each kit includes hinges, nylon bell crank, control horn, formed wire pushrods,
decals, and detailed English/German instructions. Where applicable, the canopy and formed wire landing gear are also included.
SIG - F/F Airplanes
The F/F (Free Flight) airplane kits contain high quality balsa, prop, contest rubber motor, covering material, detailed building and flying instructions in English and German. Where applicable, the landing gear and wheels are also included.

SIG ParkFlyers Electric ARF
All three planes are constructed of lightweight yet strong, injection foam then factory
painted. The two one-piece airfoiled wings are factory finished and attach to the
fuselage using a strong cabane structure. Flying these beauties couldn't be easier. In
gentle breezes, these semi scale WWI veterans take to the sky using only about 6 m
of runway. Cruise airspeed is just 8-11 kph, so there's time to react in small park
settings or indoors.
Each ARF Includes: 180-size motor, 4.4:1 GearBox, prop, cowling, wheels, hardware,
decals, and illustrated instruction manual.

Although designed as rubber powered free flight models some
people choose not to fly these but instead build them as a beautiful covered or uncovered display model. With the increased
popularity of Slow and ParkFlyer airplanes experienced modelers
have converted these to small flying radio controlled aircraft.
Instructions are not included for converting these airplanes to
radio controlled aircraft. But it is a natural project for the experienced modeler because the stable flight characteristics associated
to free flight models make good Slow and ParkFlyer aircraft.
Typically only rudder, elevator and motor control are added using
micro servos and receiver. Use 280-size motors geared or direct up
to 400-size direct for the Piper J-3 Cub.

SeaLane FloatPlane BIY
Taxi gently away from the dock and head for open water. Increase power and
watch the water spray behind you as the hull lifts smoothly off the water.
Gentle, graceful, responsively solid. Then turn-it-on; loops, rolls, even inverted
flight! You would never think this was a floatplane. Settle back for a smooth
touchdown into the sunset and taxi back to the dock with solid, positive
control, even in crosswinds.
The SeaLane features a one-piece, removable wing, allowing easy access to all
your radio gear. The high mounted forward facing engine pylon keeps your
engine high and dry. While the SeaLane is no landlubber, SIG includes optional
instructions showing the installation of a fixed gear and tail dragger landing
gear. Simply add the main and tail wheel assemblies (not included), detach the
tip floats and burn up the skies at your local flying field. The SeaLane is the
perfect choice for your first-time seaplane.
SeaLane builds quickly with precision laser cut wood parts; full size rolled plans
and illustrated construction manual leaving nothing to the imagination, even for
the novice builder. Includes quality hardware package.

Kadet LT-25 BIY
For decades, the SIG Kadet's have been the R/C trainers of choice at many club
fields. The newest in the Kadet series, LT-25 is a downsized version of the
popular SIG Kadet LT-40. The LT-25 inherits the same gentle flying
characteristics and light wing loading which allows it to fly slow enough to
give the student pilot time to think and react. It has the same "hands off"
stability on all axes. If the student pilot gets disorientated, simply let go of the
"sticks" and the LT-25 will recover and return to level flight. For simplicity and
minimium flying weight, the LT-25 has a tail dragger landing gear. With a widestance main gear and shallow angle of attack on the ground, the LT-25 takes off
and lands just as easily as most tricycle gear airplanes.
Order No. SIGRC74
LT-25 builds quickly with precision laser cut wood parts. Includes quality
hardware package with aluminum main landing gear.

First attempts at R/C flying should be with an inherently stable model
that flies slow enough to give the student pilot time to think and react.
The SIG Kadet Senior is the result of over 50 years of experience
helping beginner modelers do just that. With a high wing, generous
wing area and light wing loading, the SIG Kadet Senior also makes a
great flying platform for camera, simulated bomb drops, banner or

Smith Miniplane BIY
Historically, the full-scale Smith Miniplane is one of the designs that helped start the
modern homebuilding era. Originally designed and built in 1957 by Frank Smith of
Fullerton, California, the Smith Miniplane was an early example of engineering with
the amateur homebuilder and weekend pilot in mind. It could be constructed with
tools easily within reach of the average craftsman. Powered by a 100 hp Lycoming,
the Smith Miniplane cruised at 190 kph and climbed at a fantastic 760 m per minute.
In 1974, Glen Sigafoose, then President of Sig Mfg. Co., acquired a complete Smith
Miniplane to use for aerobatic practice. Glen's beautiful red, white, and black aircraft
was the inspiration for this semi-scale model.
Like the full-scale model, it's smooth and stable, yet provides plenty of excitement in
the aerobatic department. An outstanding roll rate makes for dizzying snap rolls.
Conventional balsa and plywood construction, semi-symmetrical wing. Includes
molded ABS cowling, headrest and wheel pants, factory formed landing gear and
tailwheel wires, authentic decals and quality hardware pack.

1/4 Scale Clipped Wing Cub BIY
In 1969 Hazel Sig, President of SIG Mfg. Co., rebuilt a standard 1941 Piper J-3
Cub for aerobatic flying. To improve the airplane's aerobatic performance, 1 m
was cut off each wing panel, and the engine was reworked to produce 75 hp
instead of its normal 65 hp. The entire framework of the Cub was rebuilt and a
dazzling sunburst paint job was applied with SIG Supercoat Dope. Over the
years Hazel progressed to more powerful airplanes for her aerobatics, but none
ever captured the affections of modelers worldwide as has the Clipped Wing
Cub.
In the air, the 1/4-scale version of Hazel's Cub is as smooth, stable, and
responsive as the big one. Basic aerobatic maneuvers such as loops, rolls,
spins, and snaps are easy. Easy-to-Build balsa, plywood, & spruce construction
kit. Strong one-piece wing. Complete hardware pack includes molded ABS

Spacewalker 1/3-Scale BIY
Although it looks like it's straight out of the 1930's, don't bother looking up
this one in your aviation history books. The Spacewalker was designed by
Jesse Anglin of Hendersonville, North Carolina and first flew in 1986! Despite
the fact it is a relatively new design, the Spacewalker manages to capture all
the spirit of Aviation's Golden Age.
This 1/3-scale model of Jesse's Spacewalker retains all of the charm of his
beautiful homebuilt. Plans for the full-size aircraft were scaled down for the
ultimate in scale accuracy. Construction is easy with pre-formed fiberglass
parts such as cowling, wingtips, and wheel pants and conventional balsa and
plywood construction.
In the air, Spacewalker is certain to please. The big wing, thick airfoil, and
long tail moment make for stable approaches and soft, slow landings. But
before coming back to earth, it can do enough loops, rolls, snaps, and spins
to make any sport pilot happy. Here's a scale model that almost anyone can
handle! 3-Piece wing with aluminum wing joiners. Includes hardware, scale
