The Annual Garage Sale has customarily been held in April but with Easter/
Passover, Philippine Festival, neighboring communities Garage Sales and Large
Golf Tournaments we have decided to move it to March.
Community-Wide Garage Sale
Date: Saturday MARCH 28, 2015
Time: 7:00am to 2:00pm
This years’ Garage Sale will be advertised in the Tampa Tribune, the Tampa Bay Times, craigslist and the Flyer.
There will also be notices placed in the immediate surrounding area.
Access Control will be permitting outside customers into The Eagles from 7:00am so please be ready for them!
• All items for sale should be placed on your driveway by 7:00am;
• Everything should be priced;
• Merchandise should not be displayed on lawns;
• Someone should be in attendance for the duration of the sale;
• Your vehicles should be parked in your garage to ensure proper traffic flow, reduce congestion, and make street
parking available to customers;
• This is a garage sale event and not an opportunity to promote personal business or sell new items;
• Goodwill trucks will be parked at the park parking lot to collect all unsold items. They will only be there on the
day of the sale.

Following the Garage Sale there will be a Community Event at the Park – Easter
Eggstravaganza! Bring the whole family to experience Easter at The Eagles! There
will be an Easter Egg Hunt and a prize for the best Easter Bonnet! Plan on staying
for a PG Family Movie Favorite! Please mark the event on your calendar and expect more details via email closer to
the event. The Social Committee are accepting plastic egg donations. If you are able to assist with filling eggs please

All the Governing Documents for the Eagles Master
Association as well as the applicable Village are on the
website. If you were not supplied a set before you closed
on your home, it would behoove you to take a moment
and at the very least review the Restrictions sections. It is
most unfortunate when we have to greet a new
homeowner with a notice relative to a Covenant infraction
– we’d much rather allow you time to settle in, meet your
neighbors and enjoy your new home with the knowledge
that you are aware of the rules and regulations you agreed
to at closing.
During the period November 30 through January 31 (9 week period),
the police responded to the Eagles for the following incidents:
Community call : 4; Vehicle Repo : 1; Vehicle Stop : 1;
Criminal mischief : 2; Fraud/Swindle : 2; Loud Party : 1;
Assist Other Agency : 1;. Theft Delayed : 3; Domestic Injunction Service : 2;
Assault or Battery : 1; License Tag Lost or Stolen : 1.
During this period, 142 phone calls were made to residents (during overnight
hours) to remind them that they had left their garage door open. The average
per week decreased slightly from 17 to 16.
During this period, 182 vehicles were issued a warning for parking on the
street during overnight hours .
For the same period the following warnings/fines were issued for traffic
violations (speeding and stop violations): 358
254 Warnings and 6 fines were issued to residents and 98 warnings were
issued to guests for Traffic Violations.

In lieu of a Covenant of the Month we are repeating an email blast
with TWO IMPORTANT MESSAGES sent out in February:
We were very pleased to receive the good news that Canterbury &
Turnberry Villages were awarded County Mini Grant Funds this
year.
1. SPEEDING
THE SPEED LIMIT WITHIN THE VILLAGES IS 18MPH
(includes all Village Roadways & Eagles Entry Drive section from
Patterson Road to Nine Eagles)
& THE SPEED LIMIT ON NINE EAGLES DRIVE IS 30MPH
It has become evident that speeding is once more on the rise and
motorists are not stopping at stops including major intersections like
Muirfield & Nine Eagles and Royal George & Nine Eagles. Speeding
is continuously noted by residents (including Moms and young
drivers). We cannot stress the importance that The Eagles is a large
family community with private roads which means that safety is very
important and we have to enforce speeding and traffic violations inhouse. “Be”, and “Set” the example by discussing the issue with your
household and guests and abide by the rules you have chosen to live
by. Enforcement is being administered with high priority so be
warned! Together we can make The Eagles a safe environment for
our precious families.
Canterbury Village applied for funds towards Community
Identification and Owner Association Handbooks. They were
awarded $2,500 to assist with new Notice Boards and a Handbook
for new homeowners (summary of governing documents).
Turnberry Village applied for funds for a School Bus Stop
Improvement Project. They too were awarded $2,500 to go
towards benches at the bus stop on the fork of Turnbury Oak and
Portmarnock Drives
.
The Hillsborough County Neighborhood Relations Department
offers an annual grant program opportunity to strengthen
neighborhood associations and the communities they serve.
Application is required and funding for this program is provided
by the Board of County Commissioners, the Hillsborough County
Children’s Board and the Frank E. Duckwall Foundation within
the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay.
2. DELIVERY & SERVICE VEHICLES
Access Control has brought to our attention that there is an increase of
trucks OVER 8'6" arriving at the main Eagles entrance to deliver
goods and services to residents. The main entrance is not configured
to accommodate trucks over the height restriction nor is it easy for the
guard on duty to turn them around safely. Please remember...
a) During a renovation or improvement project to instruct your
contractor or sub-contractor(s) to have materials, dumpsters, trucks
and machinery etc., delivered through the Patterson Road entrance;
b) When you order sod, trees or large plantings, furniture or
appliances etc., delivery vehicles must access via Patterson Road
entrance;
c) U-Haul (or similar), RV's, moving company vans etc., must enter
the Eagles from Patterson Road;
d) Some service trucks, like the new Mercedes Sprinter, are 12' or
higher and therefore it is important to establish at the time of ordering
service whether their vehicle is able to enter the Eagles at the main
entrance or must be directed to the Patterson Road entrance.
This information to your merchant or service provider will save time
and avoid aggravation.
Both Associations are grateful for the money which is going to
directly benefit their members and look forward to spending the
money wisely!
Village News – St Andrews
St. Andrews had their Annual Membership Meeting on
February 3rd, 2015. Since 2007 a quorum has not been established
and this year was no exception – except that we received two
residents interested in a Board position. There are no vacancies on
the Board at the present time but it is good to know we have
residents to count on in time of need - and show up at the
meetings!
Please remember that Board Meetings are open to members who
wish to attend and the Board always makes time for attendees to
ask a question or raise a concern.
According to the Rule the ONLY exceptions granted are to nonscheduled vehicles or those who have a company dictated route FEDEX, UPS, Republic Waste Services, School Buses & Emergency
Vehicles.

NEW SELECTIONS AT THE EAGLES GOLF CLUB RESTAURANT
Every year, The Eagles Golf Club Restaurant makes nuanced changes to its food and drink menus, and 2015 has proven no different.

Eagles Osprey Nest Relocation is approved
in the Eagles
As everyone that lives in The Eagles knows, the established nest on
Eagles Entry Drive has given us a window into the world of the
nesting of the Florida Osprey. The osprey is a large raptor also
known as the fish hawk. Ospreys are often seen hovering over open
water, plunging into water after fish, or calling from relatively
exposed perches. Adult ospreys are dark brown over their backs,
shoulders, coverts, and outer primaries. Underneath, they are mostly
white with variable amounts of brown appearing in upper chest and
neck feathers. Females often show darker streaking on the neck that
often forms a distinct necklace. Ospreys prefer to hunt in shallow
water areas of rivers, bays, or lakes where fish occur near the water
surface. Nowhere does our bay area have more beautiful lakes than
here at the Eagles! Ospreys come back to the same nest every year;
this urge is extremely strong for them.
Our pair of Ospreys has been in the area for three years. Since some
Osprey nests have been used for over 45 years, the residents of the
beautiful house below the nest may not be thrilled that the nest could
be there for that long! The nests consist of large masses of
interwoven sticks located in sturdy trees, often large conifers with
broken tops but our pair decided to pick a TECO utility pole. As a
result of prolonged use and annual repairs, nests can get as large as 6
feet high and 5 feet wide and even with the cone to deter them they
have built right around it! So now we have come to a point where this
year between me, the Board of Directors and management and
Audubon we will be moving the nest to a completely new pole where
they can nest and raise their young. It will be an amazing experience
to watch them return, hatch eggs and raise their young year after year.
A significant percentage of osprey (Pandion haliaetus) pairs in
Florida nest on power poles or other man-made structures. The
osprey is federally protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act so
only inactive nests may normally be taken down or moved. Inactive
nests may be determined by the absence of any egg or dependent (i.e.,
flightless) young in the nest. So as we watched them arrive early
February to redo their nest, we racing the clock to move their nest
before the eggs arrive! The new pole will be located within 60ft of
the current pole and there is a 95% chance the birds will relocate and
we will be able to watch them for years to come!

Eagles residents and surely St. Andrews residents are very fond of the
wildlife with whom we share our property. Many times I have seen
cars stopping and drivers getting out so they can remove turtles from
the busy street and put them by nearby ponds. Both residents and
visitors enjoy seeing our large alligators basking in the sun after a
cold night. Please respect (and enjoy) all our wildlife.
At the back entrance we have a huge osprey nest atop a TECO pole
adjacent to a home. Ospreys use the same nest year after year and this
one has grown to mammoth size. Just yesterday, I saw two ospreys, a
male and a female, sitting on top of the nest. This sounds great but
not if your house is adjacent to the pole. When the time is
appropriate (no eggs or babies) TECO will erect another pole across
the street, where there are no homes and move the nest there. The
cost will be shared by the Master Association and Augusta
Village.
While you are enjoying the vistas, please remember to slow down. It
is each driver's personal decision to obey the posted speed limit and
stop signs or to disregard them. Please do not force us to make that
decision for you. Safety is our prime concern.

Change for Hillsborough County Household Electronics Recycling
Hillsborough County's residential recycling service for electronics is now available exclusively at the regional Community
Collection Centers. Electronics are no longer being accepted during the County's monthly Household Hazardous Waste collection
events. Residents in unincorporated Hillsborough County will only need a photo ID for a no-cost drop-off of up to five electronic
items a month containing a digital display or circuit board, including televisions, computers, laptops, mobile devices, stereo
equipment, gaming consoles, VCR/DVD players, and printers.
The Community Collections Centers in Lithia, Seffner, Tampa, and Gibsonton already accept household electronics six days a
week. The consolidation of electronics collection allows the Solid Waste Management Division to improve staffing and services at
the centers and is expected to reduce wait times at Household Hazardous Waste collection events.
Not all items that plug in need to be disposed of at a collection center. Small items and appliances such as toasters, crock pots,
electric skillets, blenders, phone and battery chargers, lamps, hair dryers, power tools, and curling irons may be discarded in
regular trash.
The Community Collection Centers are self-unloading facilities open Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.,
with the exception of holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas
Day) and your nearest location is:

Limited quantities of household paint can also be dropped off at the centers with a photo ID. Disposal of other items accepted at
the centers, such as appliances, furniture, household quantities of construction materials, lead-acid batteries and tires, require a

Local Leaders Launch "GO Hillsborough”
Your Commissioner, Sandy Murman, wanted to share with you this important information about "GO Hillsborough"
Hillsborough County, Fla. - Residents, businesses and organizations throughout Hillsborough County have multiple opportunities
to actively participate in creating transportation plans in their neighborhoods and the broader community. Known as GO
Hillsborough, this countywide public engagement effort is intended to understand citizens' transportation issues, explore ideas
and approaches that may bring value to them, and find consensus among the widely varied needs of the entire community.
GO Hillsborough includes more than 36 workshops, with displays and stations arranged to facilitate meaningful discussions
between members of the community and local government leaders and staff. In addition, engagement channels include
Facebook, Twitter, an I-Neighborhood Project App and a dedicated telephone number to receive comments from the public.
"GO Hillsborough is about truly understanding our transportation needs and desires at a grassroots level, exploring what makes
sense in our residents' daily lives and then helping them make what we all know will be some important and likely tough
choices," said Sandra Murman, chair of the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners. "In the end, I feel confident
that we will have a meaningful, supportable transportation strategy that will serve our families, our businesses and
organizations, and our broad community well."
The interactive public meetings will be split into two main phases. The first phase, Voices, includes 12 workshops, four larger
meetings to provide geographic context and two telephonic town hall sessions. The Voices phase will culminate in an "Issues
and Opportunities" report garnered from the discussions and input. Modeling after the initial workshops, the Choices phase is
the second round of 18 workshops and meetings that will delve further into potential transportation options. The Choices phase
will strive to identify areas of consensus and commonality among communities on their preferences. Importantly, only after
community needs and desires are clearly understood will strategy and funding options be recommended for the Community
Transportation Plan.
The public engagement begins Feb. 17 and will run through May. The public may RSVP at GOHillsborough.org. See the full

Florida Department of Health News Release
The Florida Department of Health is working with other state and federal officials to monitor individuals
who may have been exposed to measles cases across the state. In the past two weeks, four cases of
measles have been identified and reported among travelers with unknown or no measles vaccinations who
visited Florida. Two cases involved international travelers.
“It’s important all Floridians make sure they have received the measles vaccination because those who are
fully immunized have very little risk of developing the disease,” said State Surgeon General and Secretary
of Health Dr. John Armstrong. “Out of an abundance of caution, it is important for those who think they
may have been exposed to measles to contact their health care provider for guidance right away.”
