Firefighter I Certification – 96 hour (47-503-720); #41169
Description: This course is designed to provide Entry Level Fire Fighter candidates with the
information needed to comply with minimum fire fighter training requirements as well as provide
the Fire Fighter 1 candidate with additional information needed to meet job performance
requirements (JPRs) in National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1001, Standard for Fire Fighter
Professional Qualifications, Chapter 3.
**Firefighter I candidates must complete a Hazardous Materials Operations 16-hour course to be
eligible for both the written and practical Firefighter I exam.
Dates: May 21, 2015- September 12, 2015
Thursday: May 21 – September 3rd
Saturday: June 13, July 11, August 15, August 29 and September 12
**Students must attend all Saturday practical sessions.
Time:
Thursday: 18:00 – 21:30
Saturday 9:00 – 17:00
Location: Plover Fire Department Training Room: 2400 Post Road Plover, WI 54467.
Additionally, selected class sessions will be held at either the MSTC Wisconsin Rapids Campus
&/or MFRD/MSTC Training Center –location Marshfield.
Cost: This class is covered by 2% dues for ‘sponsored students’. For those not affiliated with a fire
department, the cost for this class is $341.04.
Textbook: Essentials for Fire Fighting and Fire Department Operations, 6 th Edition. For those in
need of a textbook, this book is availabe at the MSTC bookstore for purchase).
Pre-Registration: Pre-registration is required for this course. No student will be allowed to
register the first day of class. This course will be capped at 24 participants.
