 International Technological University Appoints New
Director of International Students Office
Jimmie White brings over 35 years of higher education experience to the university
San Jose, CA - 4/20/2015: International Technological University (ITU) has named
Jimmie White as the new Director of the International Students Office. White comes to
the university with over 35 years of experience in the higher education field, having
previously worked in international student affairs at UCLA.
On the announcement, ITU President, Dr. Gregory O’Brien, said: “The ITU community is
extremely fortunate to have a nationally respected leader in international student affairs
like Jimmie join the university’s leadership team. His more than 35 years of leadership at
UCLA shaped that great institution’s services and practices in support of international
student success. We welcome his vast experience, energy, and leadership to our ITU
leadership team.”
Before coming to ITU, White served as Associate Director for the UCLA Dashew Center
for International Students & Scholars. During his tenure, he aided the department in
offering academic and cultural enrichment, as well as visa services, to the university’s
international student body. At ITU, he aims to use his experience to help the university
grow its international student service offerings.
White said on his appointment: "I have always had a lot of respect for ITU and its
challenging curriculum. When I met Dr. Gregory O'Brien and saw the vision and passion
he has for ITU, I knew this was the place I wanted to serve at this time in my career. As I
did at UCLA, I want to help ITU grow into a great graduate school, with a unique and
interesting culture.”
