Toronto’s favourite live painter JessGo announces new exhibit: VAGUE, an examination of
fashion and beauty inspired by Vogue covers, at her new Queen West gallery and studios
Saturday May 9th & Sunday May 10th, 2015
Who: Toronto live performance artist Jessica Gorlicky, better known as JessGo, whose work has been
commissioned by Google, Nordstrom Canada, Cirque du Soleil, Holt Renfrew, Coca-Cola, Guerlain, CAMH, the
Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games and TOMS Shoes to name a few.
What: JessGo invites Toronto into her new pop-up gallery and studios for the first time to celebrate her arrival on
Queen West and the launch of her newest exhibit: VAGUE, an examination of fashion and beauty. Using vintage
Vogue covers, photography, paint and 3D elements, the exhibit is a textural celebration of the beautiful and bizarre
world of fashion and beauty. Select works from JessGo’s past exhibits will also be on display - on the walls, the floor
and the ceiling - as well as surprise interactive installations.
Admission is free and guests are invited into JessGo’s private studio, adjacent to the gallery, to see works in
progress and participate in a two-day community art project: guests will be given brushes and paint to leave their
messages on a blank wall of the studio, which will be demolished for condo development in ###. A grand farewell to
the building, the artistic gesture will embody Toronto’s creative energy, which will remain in the space forever.
When: Saturday May 9th, 12:00 pm - 11:00 pm and Sunday May 10th (Mother’s Day), 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
Media reception on Saturday from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
Where: The JessGo Pop-Up Gallery & Studios. 944 Queen Street West, just west of Shaw.
