Re: Downtown Joliet Farmers Market 2015
It’s time to get ready for the Downtown Joliet Farmers’ Market sponsored by Joliet City Center Partnership,
LLC. The market is held on Fridays, June 19th through September 25th, along Chicago Street in Downtown
Joliet.
The market fee this year will remain at $150 per 10’ x 10’ space. Additional space is available for $150 per 10’
x 10’ or $75.00 for an additional 5’ x 5’ space. Your location at the market on opening day will be your space
for the remainder of the summer. Returning vendors may keep their reserved space from year to year.
All vendors are asked to unload their goods and park their vehicles at a nearby designated location on Van
Buren Street. Adequate parking for all vendors will be provided, and free parking passes will be issued to
vendors. No cars will be allowed within the boundaries of the market.
In an effort to attract as many people to the Downtown Joliet Farmers Market as possible, we are making a
few minor changes in 2015. The market time will be changed to 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
We will also be adding three evening market dates in 2015. The tentative dates for the evening markets are
June 24th, July 15th, and August 12th. Vendors who are signed up for the Friday market days will not be
charged an additional fee this year for the evening market days. We will also be adding a great selection of
entertainment and other additions to the market.
Returning Vendors: Please arrive by 8:00 a.m. on the first day of the market in order to allow ample time for
the initial setup. The Police Department, along with the market coordinator, will be available to assist.
New Vendors: Please DO NOT arrive prior to 8:30 a.m. on the first day of the market. We would like to get all
returning vendors settled into their spaces prior to locating spots for the new vendors. This will assist in
preventing confusion and traffic jams.
Each vendor is expected to attend the market regularly. The quality of the market is greatly affected when
customers see empty spaces. The hours of the market are 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All vendors are expected
to stay until the end of the market each week. If for some reason you must leave early, you will be provided a
temporary vendor location that will allow easy access when you leave.

For the following purposes only: Sale of produce, arts, crafts, jewelry, baked goods, vinegars, oils, miscellaneous food
items, salsas, and items deemed appropriate for sale at the market. All items for sale are subject to the approval of
Joliet City Center Partnership.
Release of Information
By participating in the Joliet Farmers’ Market, you grant permission to Joliet City Center Partnership to use, publish,
photograph, video, or film during the Joliet Farmers’ Market for the purposes of marketing and promoting the market
and release Joliet City Center Partnership, LLC from any and all liability from such use and publication.

2015 Vendor Rules
Please read and keep this information for your records
Market Times and Hours
The market will operate from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. each Friday beginning June 12 through September 25. (Please
note: The market hours have changed this year in response to vendor input.)
Vendors may set up as early as 8:00 a.m., but no later than 30 minutes prior to opening of the market. Please note:
Except for emergencies, no vendor will be allowed to enter the market after designated arrival or at the discretion of
the market manager.
Clean-Up
Vendors are responsible for cleaning up and taking home all debris, garbage, and compost generated by their operation.
The public trash receptacles located in Downtown Joliet may NOT be used by vendors. Vendors who fail to clean up will
face a possible fine or removal from the market. Vendors must remove all items, crates, boxes, and miscellaneous
garbage at the end of each market day.
Market Etiquette
Vendors are expected to wear attire that maintains the family atmosphere of the market. Shirts and shoes are required
attire.
Vendors and their employees are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner while at the market. This
includes communications with customers, other vendors, market staff, and volunteers. Vendors are prohibited from
engaging in unruly and/or aggressive behavior and will be subject to disciplinary action if they violate this rule.
Vendors may not attract attention to their items for sale by hawking (calling attention to products in a loud, repetitive
public manner) or by standing outside of the stall area. The Market Manager has the discretion to ask any vendor and
their staff to change any inappropriate behavior.
Notification of Absence
Vendors must submit to the Market Manager any dates they know they will be absent from the market. In case of
unexpected absence, a courtesy call must be made to the market manager no later than 30 minutes prior to the market
opening. A maximum of three (3) absences are allowed in a market season.
Enforcement and Fines
Vendors must at all times conform to the Market Rules. A $25.00 fine will be imposed on any vendor with a flagrant
violation of these rules. The market manager will be the enforcement officer and she has the authority to fine, move, or
suspend vendors in violation of these rules.
