Dear Westfield Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market Vendor:
2016 marks the 10th season for the Westfield Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market and we plan to mark this happy
anniversary with special events and promotions. The revitalized Blueberry Festival, which languished last year for
lack of volunteers, is scheduled on Saturday, August 6 and will include a pie contest, activities for children and a
fundraiser Dining in Denim picnic in Moore Park that evening, so vendors will be free to join in the fun.
Art in the Park will take place on June 25 when Westfield Plein Air artists will set up in the park to create oil
paintings scenes of the market. The painting s will be available for sale that evening at the Station Art Gallery.
Early interest points to our welcoming several new vendors this season, but the selection committee will make
those decisions after they have reviewed the new applications and considered the overall vendor/product mix.
Our goal is to offer a broad variety of products to our customers while ensuring profitable opportunities for
vendors.
Our community service volunteer Jani Barney will be back to lend a helping hand to vendors who need assistance. Tom Troccoli has again agreed to sing and play to create the soundtrack of our market. Sean and Rachel
will bring Cliff’s Traveling Snack Shack to the park each week and offer their delicious breakfast and lunch items.
I will make the coffee each week.
Enclosed with this letter you will find an application and a copy of the vendor requirements. Review
the vendor requirements with careful attention as your signature on the application indicates that you are
willing to comply with them. Please note also that all home processors of foods must apply for a 20-C exemption
from the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets. All sellers of live plants must apply for a Certificate of
Inspection from the NYS Division of Plant Industry. Applications are available online. Also note that vendors must
have vaccination certificates for all live animals. Copies of each certificate must be kept on file by the
the market manager.
Please return the completed application by May 1, 2014 by mail or email of the addresses printed below. Returning vendors should send payment with the application. New vendors should be aware that our application review committee will evaluate the applications to assure the vendor mix maximizes profitability and product
diversity. No payment is due until your application has been processed and approved.

It is the option of vendors to continue through the month of October. The Market opens at 9:00 a.m. and
closes at 2:00 p.m..
