About the University
Kalasalingam University (formerly
Arulmigu
Kalasalingam College of Engineering) was
established in the year 1984 by the Kalasalingam
Anandam Ammal Charities. “Kalvivallal” Thiru
T. Kalasalingam, veteran freedom fighter, is the
founder Chairman of this Institution. The
University is located at the foothills of
the Western
Ghats in
rural
setting
of
Virudhunagar District, Tamilnadu.
The university offers 13 U.G. courses, 29 P.G
courses and Ph.D programs in various
disciplines. This University is the first institution
in India to offer the Six years Integrated
Bachelor Degree Program in Engineering for the
Speech and Hearing Impaired Students. The
university has signed MoU with foreign
universities,
research
organizations
and
industries with an objective of promoting
research and development. The university is
accredited by National Assessment and
Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bengaluru with B
grade with a CGPA of 2.81.
TIFAC-CORE in Network Engineering is set-up at
the cost of Rs.14.3 crores with active
participation from the industries. TIFAC-CORE in
Network Engineering is aimed at developing man
power of international standard in the field of
network Engineering
n-CARDMATH is set-up at Kalasalingam
University, with a view to promote research and
to offer advanced training in Discrete
Mathematics.
Kalasalingam University International Research
Center (KLUIRC) is set up for carrying out
research in materials, energy and computing. It
is aimed to give India, the much needed
advantages in terms of creation of jobs,
intellectual property, infrastructure, resources
and materials.
About the Centre
The Technology Innovation Centre is set up in
Kalasalingam University with the objective of
inculcating innovative thinking among the
students. The centre is set up with active
support from National Instruments, Bangalore.
The Centre has the state of the art NI software
and hardware for design, development and
prototyping of products related to data
acquisition, monitoring and control. The major

About the FDP
LabVIEW
(Laboratory
Virtual
Instrumentation
Engineering Workbench) is a system design platform
and development environment. LabVIEW contains a
comprehensive set of tools for acquiring, analyzing,
displaying and storing data. LabVIEW can be used to
communicate with hardware such as data acquisition
and motion control devices.
This Faculty Development Programme will introduce
the fundamental principles of graphical system design
using NI LabVIEW. Hands on training with NI
hardware will also be given to the participants. The
experts from NI, Bangalore will conduct the training
sessions.
