2016 Tryouts & Training Camp Notice – Information Bulletin
Anyone who wishes to try out for the Nova Scotia Provincial Karate team needs to be aware
that the first selection tournament for the season will take place at Horton High School in
Wolfville, NS on April 25, 2015. Those trying out for the team must register in the category
they will be competing in at Nationals.
Nationals will be held in Richmond, BC, January 29-31, 2016. In the past, an athlete needed to
be 14 years by the end of August (2016) in order to compete at Nationals. Last year, there was
a Youth Cup that allowed 12-13 year olds to compete. The 12-13 year olds may be included at
Nationals this year (however, that has not yet been confirmed).
The first team workout will be May 9, 2015. The training sessions are at the Halifax Ryuseikan
Dojo at 1237 Cole Harbour Road, Cole Harbour. Training is from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
$80.00 non-refundable fee for those trying out for the team.
$60.00 non-refundable fee for those who are not trying out for the team but are
attending the open sessions or $15 per session attended.
