We will start with the basics, Theatre 101, if you will. Learning the ins and outs of what makes
theatre, theatre. A lil history, some vocabulary and of course a handful of fantastic theatre
games that are not only fun but will help aid to the development of our craft as well! After a few
weeks of basic performance skill building we will start playing with scripts, culminating in a
performance at the end of the term that is sure to entertain and make you proud! My goal for
this club is to introduce the modern magic that is theatre, build confidence in those that already
have a passion for it and inspire creation in everyone involved. My name is Chip Sherman and I

influential artists of today. Some of these exciting XL art projects include: A giant
group mixed media process piece; Portland Community Chalk Murals; Life sized
self-portraits; Storytelling art / Charcoal techniques; An onsite KCLC mural at MLC!
STOMP: 2nd – 6th
Day
Friday
Grade
2x6
Time
12:30-1:30
Teacher
Michael Galen
In Stomp, students challenge their rhythm and coordination by making beats with their bodies.
The style originated in African-American university fraternities as a way to display unity, power,
and pride for the house. Students will learn how to keep time, remember and count rhythms,
coordinate independent motions in their bodies, work together as a unit, and express
themselves. We will cover numerous stepping patterns, make chants, as well as play rhythm
and improv games. The term will culminate in a choreographed stepping performance.
Check out Michael’s page for awesome video clips:
