Sunset Blvd. #381 Los Angeles, CA 90027 WWW.LAGARDENCOUNCIL.ORG Partnered with 36 community gardens in Los Angeles County to manage the business of gardening including accounting, lease negotiations, insurance, and taxes Worked with Los Angeles Conservation Corps to open five new community gardens in Los Angeles County: El Cariso Mountain, Eastmont, Seeds of Carver, Willowbrook, and Wilmington Developed partnerships with existing community gardens including Brian’s Orchard and El Sereno Offered gardening and community organizing advice and support to more than 125 community gardens Led a bi-weekly gardening program at the Pitchess Detention Center Led water conservation workshop, sponsored by LADWP Initiated nutrition workshops in community gardens Hosted a Gathering of Community Gardens where more than 120 community gardeners met to share best urban gardening practices Advocated at city halls for more space for community gardening Financially, we ended the year in a strong position with a positive change in net assets of $34,473. Total revenue received for 2014 was $378,947 with 39% coming from foundation grants and 6% from individuals. Total expenses were $344,474, with 85% of revenue going directly to our community garden programs. LACGC sources of revenue and expenses for 2014 break down as follows.
