Description:
ITM Universe College, Vadodara had organized an inter zonal
Volleyball tournament for boys from 24th March to 25th March
2015 under GTU sports festival SPIRIT 2014-15. The main aim of
tournament was to provide a competitive platform to young
sporting talent from Gujarat Technological University. In this
tournament 10 colleges of 5 zones (Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar,
Vidhyanagar, Rajkot, Surat) had participated. These teams were
champion and runners up of their respective zones. We are
privileged to announce that out of all these colleges, LD College of
Engineering won the tournament. Our student Mit Patel of M.E.
Semester – IV (Transportation Engineering) was leading this team
which stands out from all other teams who have participated. In
Semi final, LDCE beat Parul Institute of Technology (PIT) in
straight sets 2-0 (25-18, 25-16) and in final LDCE beat Parul
Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET) in straight sets
2-0 (25-21, 25-19) and became GTU champion in volleyball for
the fourth time.
Our institute feels proud that our students along with acquiring
the educational knowledge are also taking initiative to promote
the spirit of Sportsmanship, Competitiveness and learning from
peers and team building by taking participation in various
competitions.
