Job Description TITLE: Stay Café Manager STAFF LEVEL: Department Manager CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Exempt Overall Responsibilities: The Stay Café Manager is responsible for the provision of high quality service while representing Life Center’s Vision and Mission to the congregation and community. This position is responsible for maintaining and taking ownership of the overall appearance and performance of the Stay Café through mediums including but not limited to: providing management of The Stay Café staff, maintaining the budget (expenses & revenue), keeping a fresh atmosphere, ensure cleanliness of the café, and fresh quality products. Management responsibilities include hiring, training, scheduling and motivating employees for all work shifts; as well as, ensure the proper types and amounts of food, coffee, supplies, and merchandise are ordered and stocked to maintain appropriate inventory levels. This includes communicating to employees regarding any new products or services being offered. Ensure the proper sanitation regulations are established and performed per the Health Department guidelines. Qualifications: Fulfill Character, Competency, Chemistry and Culture requirements as set by Life Center Ministries Previous and current participation in Life Center weekend experiences Ability to take initiative, demonstrates team management, leadership ability, and interpersonal skills Work with others in a close knit fast paced environment Must be able to maintain a customer oriented attitude and service style Demonstrates a working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office Programs, and a Cash Register Must be able to stand for long periods of time; as well as, occasionally lift/move up to 50lbs Firm understanding of Health Department Guidelines and Sanitation 4+ years of experience in high-end retail coffee sales and 2+ years of experience as a manager Principal Responsibilities: Required to promptly acquire knowledge of all products and services offered by The Stay Café at Life Center. The Manager is responsible for the hiring, training, scheduling, supervision, and performance evaluation of café staff. Schedule must be posted a minimum of two weeks out at all times. Creates a positive learning environment by providing clear, specific, timely and respectful feedback and coaching to crew members on shift to ensure excellence and to improve performance. Develops positive relations with team by learning, understanding and addressing individual needs and concerns Directs crew to various workstations to reduce bottlenecks and to ensure speed of service, cleanliness standards, and operational needs are met. Makes it understood with all employees that the customer is the first priority and that every employee is here to fully support that priority with competent, careful and complete service for all clients. Delivers "WOW" customer service consistently, as well as holding crew accountable for the same. Leads team by example, modeling ideal behaviors. Ensures crew provides quality beverages and food products consistently for all customers by following recipe and presentation guidelines. Follows Department of Health and Life Center standards for health, safety and sanitation guidelines at all time. Ensures that all customer complaints are resolved with maximum customer satisfaction. Reports all complaints to Chief Financial Officer in a timely manner. Follows procedures including cash handling, safety, and security and ensures that staff is doing the same. Responsible for daily deposits and accuracy of shift reconciliation reports by staff as well as providing timely reports to the Chief Financial Officer. Always strives to exceed sales goals and remains within labor budget limitations at all times. Works to maintain waste management, as well as holding crew accountable for the same. Responsible for product ordering and receiving of products; as well as, anticipates customer and store needs and inventory by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues. Schedule: Varies, Must be available on the weekends.
