POSITION VACANCY: ASSOCIATE PASTOR

Position Overview
Lima Baptist Church (LBC) is an independent evangelical Baptist church. The Associate Pastor is a minister of the Gospel
with specific areas of oversight within the church outside of those designated to the Senior Pastor and intended for pastoral
development. He reports to the Senior Pastor.
Essential Job Functions
· Development and oversight of specific ministries within the church that may include, but are not limited to the
following:

Youth Ministries (6 – 12 grade)
o
Children’s Ministries (newborn to 5 grade)
o
Adult Small Groups (Bible studies and support meetings in homes)

· Assisting the Senior Pastor with duties related to pastoral leadership for the purpose of development: e.g., all the
ordinances of the church (communion and baptisms), preaching, teaching, weddings, funerals, and visitation
As-needed Job Functions (Oversight)

College & Career (singles involved in higher education and starting their careers)
·
Sunday School
·
Missions Committee
·
Social Committee
·
Men’s Ministry
·
Counseling and support of the people under assigned areas of oversight
·
Conducts or attends meetings pertinent to job functions

Requirements
·
Born-again, Spirit-filled, believer in Jesus Christ
·
Meets Biblical qualifications of elder and pastor/teacher
·
Member and participant in LBC life
·
Excellent administrator and communicator
Other Skills/Abilities
·
Good knowledge of computing
·
Ability to adjust priorities based on current needs
·
Ability to work independently and anticipate needs
Education
·
Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree equivalent
o
Those with Bible school training and/or seminary training will receive serious consideration.
Experience
o
5+ years in Christian ministry areas (i.e., teen/youth, children, home groups)
