About Our Race
Race Mission
To combine a 5K and concert by a popular local band, The Sons of
Zebedee! An event integrated with Laurel Meadow Elementary
School’s physical education curriculum that encourages kids, teachers
and adults to stay active and celebrates their achievements.
Beneficiary
Race proceeds will be split between the technology needs at LMES
and the future construction of a track at our school.
Focus on Kids
The 5K race has youth-friendly age group awards to encourage
young distance runners. All youth participants in both events will
receive participation awards.
5K Demographics
Laurel Meadow Elementary School has the LARGEST school
population in Hanover County, with the most students and parents.
The 5K race is the most popular distance in the country for runners.
