The conference begins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday,
March 21, 2015. Please pick up your conference
information packet and your nametag containing
your workshop assignments between 8:30 a.m. and
9:00 a.m. in Spellman Hall on the day of the
conference.

The conference is designed to introduce young
women to STEM careers. STEM is an acronym for
Science, Technology, Engineering, and
Mathematics.

4. Common Core Standards in Math: A Parent’s
and Teacher’s Guide
v Discover how interesting and fun science,
math, engineering and technology can be.
v Learn about STEM career opportunities
for women.
v Form personal contacts with women
working in traditionally male occupations.
v Meet other young women interested in
STEM courses and careers.

The conference will start with registration,
breakfast and a keynote speech. This will be
followed by two workshop sessions with a brief
break in between. Lunch will be served.
Throughout the day we will play a “Mystery
Woman” game. Girls will be challenged to meet
women with interesting careers in science,
technology, engineering, and mathematics and
match them to clues provided.
AAUW MISSION STATEMENT

v The registration deadline is February 12th.
v Space is limited so register early.
v The maximum number of STEM Alliance
sponsored seats is limited to 18.
v No student will be allowed to attend
without a completed registration form
signed by parent or guardian.
v All workshops are conducted in English.
v There is a separate program for adults.
v Adults may not accompany students to
workshops.
The College of Mount Saint Vincent is located
at 6301 Riverdale Ave., Riverdale (Bronx), NY
10471.
There will a bus leaving from Hommocks for
all 18 students with some room for adults as
well. Please arrive at Hommocks at 7:30 am.
We will return after the Campus Tour ends,
most likely around 3:30 pm. Teachers will
accompany students on the bus.

1.) Complete Conference Registration Form
(see attached sheet) by February 12
2.) Place form plus check or cash for $10 for
each student into the STEM conference box in
the Main Office. (Check is payable to STEM
Alliance of Larchmont-Mamaroneck).
3.) Scholarships are available. Please mark the
Conference Registration Form accordingly
and the STEM Alliance will cover your cost
for the conference.
4.) Indicate your t-shirt size on the registration
form. The STEM Alliance will purchase tshirts for all students.
14. Hands-On Cosmetic Chemistry (2 sessions) Step
