Margaret Rowe Senior Social Worker in the Chronic Disease and Post-Acute Program with Gold Coast
Health will present on the emotional impact of having a chronic lung disease on both you and your family.
This will include the various changes to your lifestyle and healthy ways to manage. Anxiety and depression
are more prevalent in persons with lung disease and Margaret will talk about indicators, practical ways to
manage and when to seek support.

Asbestos Awareness and Safety in the Community
Claire Mulvihill, Lung Cancer Nurse Specialist from Lung Foundation Australia, will explore the risk of
asbestos that remains in the community. Claire will also explain what to do if you suspect asbestos in
your home or if you have been exposed to asbestos in your environment.
