Potential into Reality Children`s Lives Touched by LASE in 2013
2013-2014
Potential into Reality
Dear Friends of LASE:
Since its founding in 1956, Lutheran Association for
Special Education (LASE) has nurtured the hearts and
minds of thousands of children with special needs.
Lutheran schools are still instrumental in unfolding
the potential of every child, including those with mild
learning challenges. Hope is unbridled for families
who want their children to grow through a Biblically
based education.
This past year LASE has focused on collaborating
with our partner schools to ensure that all children
learn and flourish. LASE began the 2013-14 school
year with the LASE Insights Series Workshops which
helped over 100 Lutheran school teachers work with
children with learning challenges. LASE also launched
a monthly e-news letter this year for Lutheran
teachers with helpful tips and tactics for working with
special needs children. By partnering with dedicated
educators from Lutheran schools, LASE leads the way
in inspiring the God given potential of every child
into reality. Thanks for believing in our children and
for your constant support!

PARTNER
SCHOOLS
2013-2014
Our LASE Promise is that we will partner
with parents, educators, and schools by
providing solution-focused expertise and
encouragement that transforms their
desire to inspire the God give potential of
every child into reality.
Our teachers tell how they deliver on this
promise daily:
“As an educator for LASE, I try everyday
to make a difference in the lives of
students, teachers and parents. It may be
to give encouragement to a parent who
had lost hope. It may be to play a game
with a child to show them that yes indeed
they can learn all the states and capitols.

It may be to demonstrate for a teacher
an alternate way of teaching. Whatever it
is, I try to inspire each child’s God given
potential every day!”
“I deliver on the promise first by thinking
of myself as a partner. I am not in charge,
although I may at times sit in the driver’s
seat. Nor am I an observer, although
sometimes I need to observe to know
what needs to be done. A partner is open
to the ideas of others and flexible enough
to make changes to find what works. A
partner is supportive of the rest of her
team. As a partner I seek out solutions
where everyone wins.”
