IN MEMORY OF SHIRLEY LYDIA FREEMAN Obituary for Shirley Freeman Passed away peacefully at the Grand River Hospital on June 11, 2015, at age 83. Dear mother of Bob and Rose of Guelph. Beloved Nana of Nicole (Nigel) of Toronto and Dan (Anna) of Kingston. Great grandmother of Jonah, Jude and Zoe. She is fondly remembered by Don and Arabelle Freeman of Windsor and their family. Dear sister of Rita, and Lyle and his wife Rose Marie and aunt of many nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Ross, a WWII veteran with the Perth Regiment. She was a past volunteer for the “Meals On Wheels” program and she donated blood many times. For many years she helped administer a community garden at the Christ Lutheran Church where she was a regular parishioner. She was actively involved in the annual church bazaar where she made quilts and Christmas nativity scenes. Quilting was her passion for many years. She volunteered for many years at the “Out of the Cold” program and continued this well into her 80s when the program was discontinued. Memorial visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, June16, 2015 from 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will be celebrated at Christ Lutheran Church, 445 Anndale Rd., Waterloo on Wednesday, June 17th at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor James F. Brown officiating. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
