PTO Election Information - Dr. Manuel C. Barreiro Elementary School

Dear Parents:
The Nominating Committee has identified candidates for the positions of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Assistant
Treasurer for the 2015-2016 PTO Board.
We encourage you to participate in the election process and join us on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 for our Annual Volunteer
Appreciation Coffee where we will hold our election.
Our PTO bylaws state the following:
Members are eligible for office if they are members in good standing at least 14 calendar days before the nominating
committee presents its slate. Certified Level II Volunteer clearance (which includes a background and fingerprint
check) must be completed prior to taking office in September of the election year.
Officers are elected for one year and may serve no more than two consecutive terms in the same office. Each person
elected shall hold only one office at a time. In the event, that the nominating committee does not receive any request
for nominations, the current office holder may continue to serve on the board.
Please note, nominations may also be taken from the floor on May 20, 2015 prior to the election. We encourage you to review
our current Bylaws on our web page.
