Panthers High School Battle of the Bands - Terms and Conditions Term The Panthers High School Battle of the Bands contest opens for band submission from 20 April 2015 and closes at midnight on 8 May 2015. Prize The first-placed band will win $6000 – shared 50:50 with the band’s high school, a professional recording at Sony Music studios and airtime for the winning track if the band’s music is compatible with Triple M music genre. Entering Only high school bands with all student members are eligible to enter The Panthers High School Battle of the Bands. School staff members and any professional music artists are not eligible to enter the competition. How to enter For your entry to be valid you must register by completing the entry form on the Battle of the Bands webpage by midnight on 8 May 2015. The form must contain the following information: 1. Name of band 2. Name of band members with confirmation that they are all student members of the same high school 3. Contact information for all band members 4. Brief bio of the band 5. A YouTube URL audio or video file link uploaded with at least one song (The above to be collectively called the “Entry”) By submitting an Entry you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and authorise Penrith Rugby League Club Limited (Panthers) to send to your nominated email address an Events newsletter containing information about upcoming events. The Panthers High School Battle of The Bands reserves the right to cancel or amend the Competition, the Competition format or these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice, and without any further recourse to participants. Any changes will be notified to your registered e-mail address and updated on this website. Number of entries Each band may submit only 1 entry. Selection of Bands to compete in the band offs Bands will be selected to compete in band offs by a committee, and all selections will be final with no correspondence to be entered into. Bands selected to compete in band offs will be notified of their selection and will be advised of their competition date. Selection of winners Eight bands will be selected to compete in the quarter-finals and subsequent semifinal, along with grand final winner to be be chosen via (social media or SMS) with all decisions being final with no correspondence to be entered into. Copyright and Privacy Consent By entering into the competition, bands permit Panthers to record their performances and grant to Panthers (and agents or contractors acting on behalf of Panthers) the non-exclusive irrevocable free-of-charge right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, edit, publish and communicate to the public the song submitted with their Entry and their live or recorded performance/s, and consents to their name (in whole or in part) being acknowledged as the creators of the Work. Liability and Indemnity Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, Panthers (including their respective officers, employees and agents) are not responsible for and exclude all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under Panthers’ control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any Entry or correspondence that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether received by Panthers or not) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of Panthers; (d) any variation in the prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by an entrant or winner; or (f) use of the prize. Bands indemnify Panthers against any damage or injury they or their equipment may cause during the competition.
