To The Yorkshire Gliding Club, Sutton Bank. YO7 2EY
It is anticipated that we meet from 11.30 am through to early afternoon.
There is a small cafe with a panoramic view of the airfield so hopefully we can
see the sailplanes. Just report in at the downstairs office.
The White Horse of Kilburn with its free car park is half a mile down the hill.
The village of Kilburn famous for the ‘Mouseman’ furniture is a further mile
down the road. Sutton Bank National Park Centre on the A170 is 2 miles from
the club (parking charges apply). There are many footpaths in the area.
The Club is well signposted from the A170 or can be approached from the
other direction by climbing White Horse Bank from the Kilburn side. The Club
has a blue sign and then immediately after follow the direction for visitor
parking. This parking is on grass areas both sides of the track.
Let me know by Wednesday 22nd if you are anticipating coming so that I can
make arrangements with the Club and also help the caterers especially if you
would like Sunday Lunch.
