Review the summer school positions available in this booklet and determine which positions you would
like to apply for.
2.
Summer School Substitutes: If you are only interested in being a summer substitute, please fill out the
summer school substitute application.

2) Click on Careers in Millard.
3) Click on Current Openings 1/3 of the way down the page on the left hand
side of the page.
4) View job listings – click on Summer School. Click on Apply.
5) Click on ‘Apply for this Position’ on the right hand side of the next page.
6) New Users: You will need to choose ‘Create New Account and Apply’.
7) Please indicate if you are an internal applicant.
8) Existing account holders: Sign in using your TalentEd Recruit & Hire
username and password.
*note – Everyone who has not applied for a position since July 2012 will
need to create an account.

Courses that are eventually chosen for summer school are dependent upon student enrollment.
HIRING PROCEDURES

Applications are to be submitted on-line by March 27, 2015.

Hiring of elementary staff will first involve the attempt to provide a full schedule for teachers. To assist us in this
endeavor, candidates must identify all of the courses they feel qualified to teach.

Interviews for elementary positions will be conducted as needed. Further information will be provided at a later date
regarding the time and place of interviews.

Salary: Summer school teachers on contract with Millard Public Schools will be paid $31.25 per hour for teaching
and planning time. Summer school teachers who are not on contract with Millard Public Schools will be paid at the
hourly rate of $23.22 for teaching and planning time.

Planning time will be paid at the rate of one hour for every five hours of teaching.

Every attempt will be made to ensure notification of teaching and staff assignments by May 8, 2015. Please
note that adjustments may be made after this date to accommodate enrollment.
Teaching assignments will be made by the Summer School Administrator.

2015
There are a variety of summer school programs being conducted within the Millard Public Schools system this coming summer. Some
support staff positions (paraprofessionals, hall monitor and secretarial) will be available. If you are interested in applying, please
complete the on-line application by March 27, 2015. The salary per hour for summer school will be a current employee’s normal
hourly rate. A new employee hired as a paraprofessional specifically for summer school will be paid $10.45 per hour. A new
employee hired specifically for summer school as a secretary or hall monitor will be paid $13.16 per hour.
Preference will be given to those who are currently working in the buildings that will have a summer school program along with past
experience as a paraprofessional during summer school.
