This form should be used to request access to ECOES (the Electricity Central Online Enquiry
Service). It may be used for requests to access the live service, or for provision of data
extracts.
Before submitting an application, please review the principles for granting access to ECOES
contained in the Guidance for Third Party Users of Access available to download from the
MRASCo Website. Only application that fulfil these criteria will be considered.
N.B. Supplier Agents (Meter Operators, Data Collectors, Data Aggregators and PPMIPs) with
an MPID in MDD are entitled to access ECOES and therefore do not need to complete this
form. They should contact the Central Administration Service direct for access information.

USAGE RESTRICTIONS
Should the application be successful, a set of Terms and Conditions will be drawn up. These contain a number
of restrictions as set out below. Confirmation of acceptance in principle is required prior to processing the
application.

Data should not be stored for any purpose other than the use for which access is granted or passed on
to other parties.
Data should not be assumed to be accurate.
Data must not be used for any purpose other than that specified by the intended use.
Parties will confirm they will use the data in accordance with all relevant Data Protection legislation,
including but not limited to the Data Protection Act (1998).

Data may only be used for business within the UK.
The applicant’s use of the ECOES service will be audited by the CAS prior to access being activated
and at least annually thereafter.
Access should be restricted to required data items only.
All costs associated with granting access, providing data, and auditing usage will be met by the
applicant. Where charges are appropriate, a schedule of charges will be provided to the applicant for
agreement prior to the application being presented to the MRA Executive Committee (MEC).
